Supporting a leading OTT streaming service, ASG is seeking MCR (Master Control Room) Operators to join their Live Streaming Operations team in New York City. This role involves managing and monitoring inbound/outbound transmission, ad insertion, feed routing, and overall video/audio/caption quality for live content, especially marquee sporting events. The position is part of a Flex Workforce, offering project-to-project work with varying cadence and scope, providing flexibility and exposure to top-tier companies.

Founded in 1997, and providing nationwide services, ASG has teams based in Northern California, Los Angeles, the New York Tri-State Area, the Southeastern US, and the Rocky Mountain Region.We are looking for:Supporting a leading OTT streaming service, ASG is seeking MCR (Master Control Room) Operators to join our Live Streaming Operations team in New York City. The Live Streaming Operations team is responsible for managing and monitoring inbound/outbound transmission, ad insertion, feed routing, and overall video/audio/caption quality for marquee sporting events and other live content. The MCR Operator will join our expanding team, providing master control and live operations support for live sports events. This position will require working on Sundays and occasional late nights. We are looking for a driven, self-motivated individual. The ideal candidate is well organized and can remain calm and focused under pressure.This position is part of our Flex Workforce.As a Flex team member, you’ll work on a project-to-project basis, supporting a variety of leading media and technology clients. Flex roles are ongoing and dynamic—work may vary in cadence, length, and scope depending on client needs. This setup offers flexibility, exposure to top-tier companies, and the chance to grow your skills across multiple exciting assignments.Job Responsibilities:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Acquire and monitor all inbound video, audio, caption feeds</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Ensure continuity of programming by confirming that live feeds are checked in correctly, including transmission “fax” checks and coordinating with remote/studio locations for any issues</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Monitor and maintain the continuity and availability of live broadcast</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Route various signals according to booking and program schedule information</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Cue & roll slate on EVS IP Director</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Count in and out of Studio & Truck segments and commercial breaks</li><li class="leading-relaxed">With the guidance of Operation Supervisors, work as a team to promptly recover from any on-air discrepancies</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to Engineer-in-Charge or providers</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Report and document technical issues – including logging of on-air discrepancies</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Operate all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned operating areas</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Participate in special event coverage and projects as necessary</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Qualifications & Experience:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">1-3 years of experience in Master Control Room environment</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Works well under the pressure of Live Television</li><li class="leading-relaxed">General understanding and experience with broadcast routers, transmission systems, monitoring, playout/ad insertion, valid readers, replay, graphics, and other television technology</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Ability to read scopes and basic understanding of broadcast and streaming systems</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Team player and prepared to learn new skills, embrace and nurture a culture of change and positive attitude</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Schedule flexibility with the ability to work late nights on Sundays.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Sports fan and knowledge is a plus</li></ul>Compensation:This role is paid an hourly rate of $30-$60 depending on experience.Advanced Systems Group LLC provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
