Blue Zoo is seeking a Mid Character Modeller to build charming, detailed, and stylized characters from concept designs, meeting production deadlines and director briefs. This role requires the candidate to be based in the UK, outside of London (outside the M25), and visa sponsorship is not available. The studio offers flexible, hybrid, and remote working options. Day-to-day tasks include modelling, UV mapping, texturing, shading, and collaborating with various departments to ensure high-quality assets and efficient project delivery.

They build characters with charming details that help tell stories. They are always keen and constantly striving to improve their skills and assets.They focus on creating detailed, stylised characters based on informative concept designs, whilst meeting production deadlines and that all-important brief from our Directors, Art Directors and Clients.This role requires the hired candidate to be based in the UK, outside of London (outside the M25). We are very happy to discuss flexible, hybrid and remote working options for all our vacancies.Day to Day:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Modelling, UV mapping, texturing and shading stylised character assets.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Effectively realising a 2D concept through to 3D, as well as being able to work with minimal design with the guidance of a Senior or Lead Artist.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Working as part of a team of modelling artists, and regularly communicating with our Rigging Department, CG Supervisor, Art Director and Directors.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Producing render tests for the approval process.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Managing your time efficiently to meet deadlines.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Responding positively to, and acting on notes and feedback from our Rigging Department, the CG Supervisor, Art Director and Director</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Communicating with and responding to other departments to manage any fixes and notes, especially our Rigging and Surfacing Departments.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Reporting to the Team Lead and Production Manager if there are any issues that need to be flagged that could affect the schedule.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800">About You</h3>Must Have:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Solid demonstrable animation production experience</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Interpreting volume and form when creating models from concept designs</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Working with modelling tools both in Maya and Zbrush</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Knowledge of clean topology and subdivision modelling principles</li><li class="leading-relaxed">UV mapping with Maya</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Knowledge of texturing assets with Substance Painter and Photoshop</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Being a team player and great collaborator</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Creative problem solving</li></ul>Bonus Points:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Knowledge of Substance Designer</li></ul>

This team is growing and we’re looking to hire an additional AML Risk Investigator to help us with Transaction Monitoring, Financial Crime Investigations, Case Management and drafting Unusual Activity Reports. As a member of our Investigations team, you’ll help handle our transaction monitoring queues while balancing an eagle eye for risk with excellent user experience. To begin with, you’ll work to help make sure we have smart, risk-based monitoring in place and help build out our case management technology and processes.You’ll need to learn how a really wide range of businesses work and bring your knowledge to bear on our processes and product.
