Senior Animator

As a Senior Animator at Coatsink, you'll lead animation projects, manage a team, and ensure high-quality animations. You'll be skilled in Maya, Unity, and animation principles, with experience creating rigs and working on game mechanics.

 As a Senior Animator at Coatsink, you will be required to have a great understanding of animation principles, working to a high standard, both autonomously and as part of a team. You will use Maya to develop and implement character rigs and animations and will be required to show forward thinking and an ability to develop character and personality in animations while serving the game's aesthetic and design.Note: To apply you must be living or plan to live within 3 hours of the GMT TimezoneResponsibilities &amp; Tasks<ul>
<li>Lead and manage animation on a project with up to 3 animators</li>
<li>Able to accurately represent department capability/limitation</li>
<li>Understand the game in development as a whole and be able to plan and work accordingly to those goals and milestones</li>
<li>Create guides and tutorials for juniors. </li>
<li>Set an animation style that best suits the project.</li>
<li>Suggest pipeline alternatives to help speed up production.</li>
<li>Communicate outside of the animation department.</li>
<li>Give feedback in team meetings.</li>
<li>Match animation style on a per-project basis</li>
<li>Produce quality work in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Identify animation requirements from complex game mechanics and work with relevant parties to solutions.</li>
<li>Work on body mechanics and acting.</li>
<li>Work in Unity on animation trees.</li>
</ul>Person SpecificationSkills<ul>
<li>Excellent understanding of animation principles. </li>
<li>A strong understanding of Unity Animation / Animator tools + setup.</li>
<li>A great understanding of Maya.</li>
<li>The ability to communicate verbally within the animation team and outside of the team with other departments regarding specific animation issues.</li>
<li>The ability to work effectively and integrate well as a member of the animation team.</li>
<li>A strong creative mindset</li>
<li>Self-motivation and a self-starter with the ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision.</li>

<li>Creating rigs in Maya.</li>
<li>Good experience of Unity.</li>
<li>Experience in the games industry is a must.</li>
<li>Experience leading small teams is preferred</li>
