The Role The Virtual Production CGI Generalist and Engine Operator is a multifaceted role combining expertise in computer-generated imagery (CGI) with proficiency in operating virtual production engines. This position is crucial for creating high-quality CGI elements and ensuring their seamless integration into the virtual production process. The role requires a unique blend of artistic skill, technical knowledge, and operational acumen, making it ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic, creative environment.
 Core Responsibilities

<li>CGI Creation and Enhancement:
<ul>
<li>Develop and refine a wide range of CGI elements, including characters, environments, and special effects, ensuring they align with the creative vision.</li>
<li>Utilize advanced techniques in 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation to produce high-quality CGI assets.</li>
</ul>

<li>Engine Operation and Real-Time Rendering:
<ul>
<li>Operate virtual production engines, such as Unreal Engine, to integrate CGI elements into live-action sequences.</li>
<li>Manage real-time rendering processes, ensuring smooth and efficient execution during production. </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Technical Troubleshooting and Optimization:
<ul>
<li>Troubleshoot technical issues related to CGI and engine operations, providing timely solutions to maintain production flow.</li>
<li>Optimize CGI assets and workflows for real-time performance, balancing visual fidelity with technical constraints. </li>

<li>Collaboration with Production Teams:

<li>Work closely with directors, cinematographers, and other production team members to ensure a cohesive integration of CGI elements.</li>
<li>Provide expert advice and insights on the capabilities and limitations of CGI within the virtual production environment. </li>

<li>Quality Control and Enhancement:

<li>Ensure that all CGI elements meet the required quality standards and artistic direction.</li>
<li>Continuously improve CGI assets based on feedback from the production team and technical performance data. </li>

<li>Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in CGI and virtual production technologies.</li>
<li>Experiment with new tools and techniques to enhance the quality and efficiency of CGI creation and integration.</li>

Skills &amp; Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Extensive experience in CGI creation, including a strong portfolio showcasing a range of skills in 3D modeling, texturing, and animation.</li>
<li>Proficiency in operating virtual production engines, particularly Unreal Engine.</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the workflow and operational demands of a virtual production environment.</li>
</ul>
 
Desired Experience

<li>Previous experience in a CGI Generalist or similar role within a virtual production, film, or gaming industry.</li>
