Becoming a Job Coach could be a great next step in your career!As a Job Coach, you'll play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their career journeys. Job Coaches provide on-site mentorship in the workplace, providing personalized one-on-one assistance tailored to each client’s needs. As a Job Coach you are also acting as a life coach, working with individuals on goals and skills to help them become not only more successful and independent at their jobs, but in their lives.What You'll Do:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Provide one-on-one training and education to caseload of individuals you support in their workplace; teach clients how to complete job tasks.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Offer prompts, cues, and support to encourage skill development and independence.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Monitor and report progress, challenges, and work performance.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Help the individual set and achieve goals; assist in overcoming personal barriers.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Help clients communicate with employers and co-workers in the workplace.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Help develop positive social, work, and life skills.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Communicate with clients to understand their interests, skills, abilities, goals, and support needs.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Provide job search assistance and interview preparation if needed.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Assess and develop resumes based on skills and strengths if needed.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Ensure safety is always maintained in the work environment.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Demonstrate positive work habits and practices</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Assist with personal cares and mobility support as needed</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Create lasting, positive impacts on peoples’ lives through coaching, mentoring, and encouraging others to reach their employment goals.</li></ul><h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">Qualifications</h2>Must have Experience:<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">6+ months of prior experience working as Job Coach OR 1+ year of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities</li></ul>Other requirements;<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">This is a driving position. In addition to travel between shift sites, this position requires transportation of individuals in staff’s personal vehicle to various employment sites within the Portland metro community. All mileage accrued while on shift is reimbursed. Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Must have availability to work day and evening shifts</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Must be available weekends (Sundays)</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Computer skills, including MS Office, email, and basic data entry.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Candidates will be required to meet all Oregon State Department of Human Services requirements.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Genuine passion for supporting others and a strong sense of advocacy.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">A flexible, motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Good communication is key in this role.
