As a Senior Concept Artist at 31st Union, you'll play a significant role in shaping the visual direction of Project ETHOS, a free-to-play, 3rd-person rogue-like hero shooter.  You'll collaborate with the character development team, game designers, and stakeholders to conceptualize and iterate on stylized designs.  Responsibilities include creating character concepts, producing high-quality visual assets (from sketches to marketing materials), establishing style guides, driving innovation in workflows, prioritizing art production, and mentoring junior artists. Responsibilities:

<li>Collaborate closely with the character development team, game designers, and key stakeholders to conceptualize and iterate on stylized designs that support the overall project vision.</li>
<li>Create character concepts with a strong understanding of artistic style, game design, narrative needs, and technical constraints, including props, weapons, vehicles, and environments as needed.</li>
<li>Produce high-quality visual assets across all development stages—from exploratory sketches to polished marketing materials.</li>
<li>Establish style guides and instructional materials in alignment with art direction, ensuring visual consistency across the art team.</li>
<li>Drive innovation in workflows and pipelines for character-focused conceptual design.</li>
<li>Prioritize, plan, and manage concept art production in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.</li>
<li>Mentor junior artists to support artistic growth and foster a collaborative creative environment.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Expertise in character design, with a strong focus on costume, anatomy, and stylization across multiple genres or styles.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to produce polished, stylized character illustrations with strong drawing and painting skills that translate effectively to 3D.</li>
<li>Extensive portfolio of character designs that includes inspirational and informative artwork, development sketches, and fully realized designs. Online portfolio required.</li>
<li>High proficiency in industry-standard 2D software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and familiarity with 3D tools (e.g. Maya, ZBrush, 3DS Max).</li>
<li>Ability to work across both 2D and 3D mediums, from early concept sketches to refined marketing pieces.</li>
</ul>
Relevant Experience:
<ul>
<li>Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, taking direction, and contributing to brainstorming sessions.</li>
<li>Awareness of current visual trends and the ability to translate them into compelling and relevant designs for interactive media.</li>
<li>Experience working within game engines (e.g. Unreal, Unity) and familiarity with production pipelines or custom toolsets.</li>

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $90,000 and $145,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Job DescriptionThe recruitment specialist will be part of IIHS’s Recruitment team and will help in managing end to end recruitment operations. This is a contractual position based out of Bengaluru for an initial term of 11 months, renewable on mutual consent, with the potential to turn into a regular position over time. Activities and TasksResponsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: <ul><li>Supporting talent acquisition efforts by:</li><li>Sourcing candidates through various channels;</li><li>Conducting preliminary screening interviews, scheduling and organising functional and other interviews;</li><li>Initiating and conducting the reference check process, etc.;</li><li>Maintaining the applications database and ensuring record keeping of candidate interviews for periodic reporting; drafting appropriate responses to candidate queries;</li><li>Assisting with the travel and relocation of shortlisted candidates as needed;</li><li>Managing recruitment-related administrative activities like documentation, communication and reporting;</li><li>Updating and maintaining the recruitment process documents and templates for use by the rest of the team;</li><li>Curating Job Descriptions for various positions across the institution;</li><li>Tracking the open positions on the website by coordinating with the Design team;</li><li>Coordinating with recruitment consulting agencies as and when required;</li><li>Presenting recruitment related data for statutory audits and internal purposes on a regular basis;</li><li>Extending support from time-to-time on other aspects of the People Function portfolio as required;</li><li>Providing support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations and others;</li><li>Participating in all activities of Institution-Building at IIHS, carrying out tasks as assigned by IIHS, and travelling on IIHS work within or outside the country as needed.</li></ul>
 Structure and ReportingThe recruitment rpecialist will be an External Consultant coordinating with the Senior Manager – People Function, and will be required to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal teams and external individuals/ organisations. Person SpecificationThe candidate should have: <ul><li>A Post Graduate degree in Human Resources or equivalent;</li><li>1-3 years of relevant experience in recruitment;</li><li>Proficiency in ATS and Microsoft Office;</li><li>Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills;</li><li>Strong team working skills;</li><li>The openness and aptitude to learn quickly;</li><li>The ability to plan routine tasks and deliver on deadlines in a systematic manner;</li><li>An uncompromising work ethic characterized by commitment, rigour, and strong attention to detail.</li></ul>
