Sound Designer - 12 month contract

Media Molecule is seeking a talented Sound Designer for a 12-month contract until January 2027. This hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days onsite in Guildford, offers significant impact and ownership within the Audio team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing product area audio needs, creating and implementing sounds in-engine, and guiding additional work like recording sessions. This is a key role with broad scope for an experienced professional in the games industry.

Hybrid 2-3 days a week onsite in Guildford</h2>Media Molecule are looking for a talented sound designer to join our Audio team on a 1 year contract to help with our new title! This is without doubt, one of the best Audio roles around. There’s huge scope for impact in this role, with ownership of audio design and technical features. The sound designer will take ownership of a product area, assessing its needs, creating the necessary sounds, implementing them in engine, and guiding any additional work that needs to be taken on (e.g. handling a recording session)<h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800">What are we looking for?</h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Ability to produce sounds that inspire and impress!</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Previous experience in a similar role within the games industry and a clear understanding of what is required to make a game sound good - demonstrated in your showreel.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">An intimate knowledge of sound recording, mixing, editing etc with experience recording different material, and an understanding of all the practicalities involved.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Demonstrable experience and knowledge of using Wwise (preferred), or another game sound implementation system.
