The Editorial Manager, Features at National Geographic is a critical role responsible for assigning and editing ambitious stories across digital and print platforms.  This individual will manage the development, commissioning, and editing of various stories, focusing on reported projects across National Geographic's core content areas. They will leverage data and audience analytics to optimize story reach and impact.  Key responsibilities include managing workflows and team members, nurturing relationships with writers, and assisting leaders in scheduling and planning.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter passionate about exceptional magazine writing and digital storytelling, with deep connections to a diverse range of writers and a keen understanding of the National Geographic brand and mission. The role requires strong editorial judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

They should possess deep connections with a diverse range of extraordinary writers, and an eagerness to dream up new and creative ways to engage and grow National Geographic’s audience.Responsibilities: <ul><li>Manage the development, commissioning, and editing of various stories, with a focus on ambitious reported projects across all of National Geographic’s core content areas.</li><li>Manage related workflows and team members to ensure that projects come together in accordance with deadlines and budgets, while meeting editorial objectives.</li><li>Leverage data and audience analytics to develop and implement strategies for optimizing the reach and impact of our stories across platforms.</li><li>Form, nurture, and maintain relationships with exceptional writers; Develop and deepen connection with new voices and diverse perspectives.</li><li>Assist leaders in scheduling and planning for project publication and completion; supervise administrative tasks, as needed.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum of 5 years of publishing experience that demonstrates increasing editorial responsibility with a large media organization(s), while managing content and teams.</li><li>Outstanding editorial judgement, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent writing and verbal communications skills, strong knowledge of the National Geographic brand and mission, and demonstrated expertise in related core topic areas.</li><li>Ability to take overall responsibility for concept and content, as well as manage creative relationships.</li><li>Keen understanding of industry goals, varied approaches to storytelling, and ability to manage multiple projects at once, on deadline.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal supervision, problem solve creatively, and exercise independent judgment.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Ability to manage and grow a related team while working collaboratively in highly matrixed conditions with colleagues outside editorial, including communications and marketing, and business support (sales, promotion, and development).</li><li>Proven track record in growing digital audiences and expanding brand reach.</li><li>Curiosity about the planet and our place within it and the ability to grasp new subject matter quickly.</li><li>Understanding of the editorial process from conception to completion, and demonstrated ability to resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, Editorial CMS (K4/InCopy), digital media platforms; knowledge of AirTable is a plus.</li></ul>Required Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree</li></ul> The hiring range for this position in Washington, D.C. is $113,800.00 to $152,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.  Purpose of the Job We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Software Test Engineer to join our QA team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and validating web applications developed by OG Healthcare to ensure they meet high standards of quality, functionality, and performance. Qualifications and Skills <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.</li><li>Proven experience (3+ years) as a Software Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or in a similar role, specifically testing web applications.</li><li>Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.</li><li>Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, etc.).</li><li>Familiarity with various testing types: functional, non-functional, UI/UX, security, performance, and regression testing.</li><li>Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.</li><li>Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser developer tools.</li><li>Understanding of Agile development practices and experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.</li><li>Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with development teams and convey test findings.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul>
 Principal Tasks and Responsibilities <ul><li>Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications.</li><li>Perform manual and automated testing to verify web application functionality, usability, security, and performance.</li><li>Identify, record, and track bugs and issues using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira etc.).</li><li>Collaborate closely with software developers, project manager, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, acceptance criteria, and potential risk areas.</li><li>Conduct regression testing to ensure previously developed features function as expected after updates.</li><li>Test web applications across multiple browsers, devices, and platforms to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.</li><li>Analyze test results, prepare detailed bug reports, and participate in troubleshooting with the development team.</li><li>Stay up-to-date with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and trends to continuously improve testing processes.</li><li>Provide suggestions for improving the overall user experience and quality of the web applications.</li><li>Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by working with stakeholders to validate end-user requirements.</li></ul>
 Experience and Background <ul><li>Knowledge of cloud platforms and environments such as Azure etc.</li><li>ISTQB certification or other relevant QA certifications.</li></ul>
