In this role, you'll contribute to building gameplay-rich environments that emphasize risk-reward exploration, loot-based progression, and dynamic player encounters. <br><br>
</div><div>This position is ideal for a designer with strong Unreal Engine expertise and hands-on experience crafting Point-of-Interest (POI)-driven maps and PvEvP spaces. You’ll collaborate closely with systems, AI, art, and narrative teams to deliver gameplay-first level design that balances tension, readability, and player freedom. <br><br>

</div><br><br><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><div><strong>Day to Day</strong></div><ul><li>Design, prototype, and iterate on POIs and full map layouts that support player choice, dynamic encounters, and environmental storytelling</li><li>Integrate gameplay systems including AI, loot, and objectives into engaging level experiences</li><li>Collaborate with artists, narrative designers, and systems designers to deliver gameplay spaces that are readable, immersive, and replayable</li><li>Balance risk, flow, and pacing across key player paths and encounters</li><li>Take levels from greybox to final, working iteratively through playtesting and cross-discipline feedback</li><li>Document and communicate design intent, layout justifications, and encounter scripting needs clearly to team members</li></ul><div><br></div><br><br><h3>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</h3><div><strong>Must Haves</strong></div><ul><li>Deep, demonstrable understanding of and/or direct professional experience designing for extraction shooters, competitive PvEvP, or similar loot-driven genres</li><li>Proficiency in UE5, including level layout, Blueprint scripting, and gameplay prototyping</li><li>Strong encounter design sensibilities and understanding of player psychology and pacing</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines</li><li>Comfortable collaborating and leading teams across multiple global time zones</li></ul><div><strong>Education &amp; Experience </strong></div><ul><li>5+ years of professional experience in game design </li><li>2+ shipped titles (AA or AAA), ideally with demonstrable experience in a senior or lead role  <ul><li>Note: For this role, academic projects do not qualify as professionally shipped or launched titles </li></ul> </li> </ul><br><br><h3>Benefits</h3><div><strong>Flexible Working Environment<br></strong>Almost all of our roles allow for your choice of work location.
