This role will serve as the organization’s primary authority on accounting standards and financial controls, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across a rapidly evolving business.</p><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>Your Responsibilities</strong></h3><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>Technical Accounting Leadership</strong></h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Serve as the company’s primary decision-maker on U.S. GAAP matters, owning the drafting and defense of technical accounting positions across digital asset valuation and impairment, M&A, revenue recognition (ASC 606) for protocol- and product-based revenue streams, and token-based compensation (ASC 718), including grant-date determination, valuation, vesting, and modifications.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Develop and maintain accounting policies, technical memos, internal controls, and documentation for complex areas such as token lifecycle events (minting, vesting, burning, distributions, staking rewards).</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Monitor evolving SEC, FASB, and global regulatory developments and ensure internal policies remain compliant and current.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>Audit Readiness & External Reporting</strong></h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Lead the company’s annual financial statement audit, with a focus on digital asset substantiation, wallet verification, valuation methodologies, and control testing.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Partner closely with external auditors, blockchain accounting specialists, and valuation experts, while personally owning and defending accounting conclusions, documentation, and audit support for complex accounting matters.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Build and maintain a robust internal audit-readiness framework, ensuring all financial reporting processes are well-documented, supportable, and scalable.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Prepare and manage PBC lists, walkthroughs, controls documentation, and technical support packages.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>Systems, Controls & Infrastructure Improvement</strong></h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Assess current accounting systems, subledgers, and reporting workflows; identify opportunities for modernization or optimization.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Lead system upgrades, architectural redesigns, or the implementation of new books/subledgers (e.g., digital asset modules, treasury tooling).</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and compliance processes to support reliability, scalability, and transparency.</li></ul><p class="my-4 text-gray-700 leading-relaxed">Partner with FinOps, Treasury, FP&A, and Legal to ensure integrated and well-controlled end-to-end financial processes.</p><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Strengthen control environments across all entities, supporting both operational workflows and audit requirements.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>Financial Reporting Oversight & Partnership</strong></h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Review and elevate the technical accuracy of monthly and quarterly financial reporting outputs, partnering with the Senior Accounting Manager who leads operational close activities.</li></ul><p class="my-4 text-gray-700 leading-relaxed">Support preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and token-related disclosures in line with U.S. GAAP.</p><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Provide accounting guidance to leadership, FP&A, and cross-functional partners to support strategic decision-making and new product initiatives.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>What You’ll Need</strong></h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed"><strong>7-10+ years</strong> of progressive accounting experience, with strong technical accounting exposure (Big 4 + industry strongly preferred).</li><li class="leading-relaxed"><strong>Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP</strong>, with demonstrated ability to independently interpret U.S. GAAP, draft technical memos, and defend accounting positions during audit.</li><li class="leading-relaxed"><strong>CPA required</strong></li><li class="leading-relaxed">Accounting experience working with digital assets, blockchain-based transactions, or Web3 treasury operations—or supporting such clients in an advisory capacity.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Strong understanding of digital asset valuation, impairment, fair value concepts, and cost-basis tracking.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Hands-on experience managing external audits and coordinating with technical specialists.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Deep knowledge on Netsuite and crypto subledger systems.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Experience with digital assets, blockchain-based accounting, fair value and impairment methodologies, and cost-basis tracking.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Background supporting internal control development in high-growth or scaling organizations.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Familiarity with multi-entity or international Web3 structures (foundations, subsidiaries, operating entities).</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives that require alignment across Finance, Engineering, Product, Legal, and BizOps.</li></ul>
