Senior Real-Time VFX Artist

Senior VFX Artist responsible for designing and implementing high-quality visual effects for gameplay, story, and art direction.  This includes translating various design inputs into real-time VFX using sprite-based particle systems, shaders, and other techniques.  The role requires creating a wide variety of effects (rain, snow, explosions, etc.), optimizing performance, collaborating with other teams, and researching new technologies.  Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, Niagara, shaders, and procedural content generation is essential.

 As a Senior VXF Artist you will:<ul>
<li>Design and implement high-quality Visual Effects to support gameplay, story, and art direction</li>
<li>Translate reference, concept art, storyboards, written game design briefs, and verbal directions into a prototype and implement real-time VFX in-game</li>
<li>Create a wide variety of real-time special effects using sprite-based particle systems along with pixel and vertex shaders; e.g. rain, snow, smoke, explosion, destruction, weapon, fire, geometry, surface shader, and full-screen effects</li>
<li>Create and optimise VFX to run within performance limitations</li>
<li>Identify and implement best practices of VFX workflow</li>
<li>Work with Art, Design, and Programming teams to anticipate and solve technical challenges within given constraints and visual requirements</li>
<li>R&amp;D on new industry technology and trends to improve the project’s visual quality and efficiency</li>
<li>Prioritise, plan, and organise VFX Domain tasks</li>
</ul>Requirements: <ul>
<li>At least 5 years of experience in game development with:<ul>
<li>Unreal Engine 4/5 and Niagara + good knowledge of Unreal blueprint</li>
<li>Creation of realistic and stylised VFX for AAA games</li>
<li>Creation shaders, using material editor and/or code</li>
<li>Procedural content generation, automation and tool creation to help other departments create content faster</li>
<li>Art content creation - high and low-poly modeling, unwrapping, baking, texturing, environment art</li>
<li>Setting up workflows of art production</li>
<li>Autodesk Maya</li>
</ul>

<li>Good knowledge of shaders, environment art and character art pipelines</li>
<li>Good understanding of optimising assets and how to create optimised content.</li>
<li>English proficiency at least at B2 level</li>
