Junior Developer

Sinn Studio Inc. is seeking a Junior Programmer with strong C++ and Unreal Engine (including Blueprint) skills to join their team developing XR combat games. The role involves collaborating with various engineers to develop and maintain game features, back-end systems, and optimize gameplay functionality. The successful candidate will contribute to creating engaging features, ensuring technical quality, and iterating rapidly in a dynamic environment.

Sinn Studio Inc. is leading the charge in XR combat games! Our debut game, Swordsman, is a physics-based combat game where you can slash your way through medieval earth to become the ultimate Swordsman. Having won multiple and been nominated for awards like Game of the Year in 2022, Best Swordfighting Game in 2020 and more. Swordsman also boasts top best seller in Quest and PSVR/2 platforms.We’re looking for an Junior Programmer with good exposure in Unreal Engine and proficient in C++ and Unreal Engine (including Blueprint). The successful candidate will collaborate with developers, AI engineers, and software engineers on systems, custom tools, and advanced XR combat technologies. This programmer proactively contributes to the creation and refinement of engaging features and elements in our projects. They are experienced in rapid iteration while helping ensure technical quality for exciting content. The team works hand-in-hand together to meet technical needs, resolve blockers, and the evolution of quality features to push our product further. We are looking for someone who will bring their vantage point and skillset, all in a space where you can thrive.<h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">Responsibilities</h2><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Participate in the development and maintenance of game features and systems in C++ and Blueprint</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Develop back-end systems for games, services, and tools (ie. interact with database, APIs, etc)</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Work on implementing and optimizing gameplay functionality to enhance player experiences</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Collaborate and communicate with cross-disciplinary team to iterate on existing tools and features</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Work closely with senior programmers, designers, and artists to integrate game assets and systems effectively. Ensure that technical solutions support artistic visions and gameplay objectives, contributing to a cohesive and engaging game environment.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Participate in team meetings, providing updates and and feedback to ensure smooth integration of features and systems with other game components</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Troubleshoot and fixing bugs to improve game quality and ensure a smooth gameplay experience</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Think from both player’s and the game developer’s perspective for high impact throughout the production lifecycle</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Hands-on helping the team navigate the unknown, tackling problems and finding solutions</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Work with the interface to be used within Unreal Engine ( this may includes areas such as Blueprints and modifications)</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Effectively contribute to solutions that are intuitive, streamlined, and cross-platform</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Other related duties as required</li></ul><h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">Qualifications</h2>If the following sounds like you, and you’re interested in joining a growing start-up, we want to hear from you!
