As a Vehicle Technical Artist at CIG, you'll be part of a team creating high-fidelity vehicle assets for Star Citizen and Squadron 42.  Responsibilities include hands-on implementation, performance optimization, rigging, skinning, asset markup, and supporting the vehicle content team. You will work closely with art and programming teams, develop and improve pipelines using tools like 3DS Max, MaxScript, and Python, and investigate new techniques. The role involves bringing ships to life through animation and physics tuning, and ensuring assets are technically sound for use in the games.  CIG has a reputation for creating complex, characterful vehicles that are more like mini-game levels, and you'll be contributing to their already impressive library of nearly one hundred ships.

Role Objective We are seeking an experienced Senior C# Developer with expertise in Unity to join our team and contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art Ground Control Station (GCS) for MAVLink-enabled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As a Senior C# Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Unity-based GCS application, enabling seamless communication and control of UAVs equipped with MAVLink protocol. Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities <ul><li>Develop and maintain a robust and user-friendly Ground Control Station application using Unity and C#. </li><li>Implement real-time communication and data exchange with MAVLink-enabled UAVs, ensuring smooth control and telemetry. </li><li>Collaborate with the hardware and firmware teams to integrate new features and functionalities into the GCS application. </li><li>Optimize the performance of the application to handle large amounts of telemetry data and provide a responsive user interface. </li><li>Identify and resolve issues related to connectivity, data synchronization, and communication with UAVs. </li><li>Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for software development, version control, and documentation. </li><li>Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain code quality and encourage continuous improvement. </li><li>Stay updated with the latest advancements in Unity and C# technologies and integrate relevant improvements into the GCS application. </li><li>Work closely with the UX/UI team to enhance the user experience and create intuitive interfaces for mission planning and execution. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, scope, and deliverables for new features and enhancements. </li><li>Opportunity to solve new and challenging problems with a high scope of innovation </li><li>Complete ownership of the product and chance to conceptualize and implement your solutions </li></ul>
Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field </li><li>Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing applications using C# </li><li>Experience with Unity and an in-depth understanding of the Unity game engine. </li></ul>
Skills And Abilities <ul><li>Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Design, design patterns, 3D Math, and Data Structures. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of Unity development, including asset management, UI design, and 3D visualization. </li><li>Proficiency in working with real-time communication protocols, such as TCP/IP and UDP. </li><li>Strong knowledge of C# and the .net framework 2.0 or above. </li><li>Familiarity with version control systems like Git for collaborative development. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. </li><li>Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. </li><li>Prior experience in developing Ground Control Stations or related applications would be a plus. </li><li>In-depth understanding of the MAVLink protocol and experience working with UAVs or drones would be a plus </li><li>Ability to work on fixed deadlines. </li></ul>
