This role focuses on enhancing SonarQube for Visual Studio, a plugin that helps developers identify and fix code quality and security issues in real-time. The engineer will design and deliver features for human and AI-generated code, aiming to make the tool indispensable for C# developers, contributing to a mission of delivering Clean Code.

In this role, you will contribute to building the next generation of developer tools by designing and delivering features that help ensure human and AI-generated code meets quality and security standards within Visual Studio. Your objective will be to make SonarQube for Visual Studio an indispensable tool for all C# developers.<h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800">What You Will Do Daily:</h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Join the IDE Experience squad, responsible for the development of the SonarQube for IDE extensions; your main focus will be on SonarQube for Visual Studio. Your responsibilities will include contributing to specifications, writing code and tests, reviewing peers’ code, validating features, and managing releases.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Become an expert on the Visual Studio Extensibility SDK, pushing the boundaries of what can be done with its APIs.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Regularly evaluate the latest approaches for assessing AI-generated code. Share findings and best practices with the team, and actively contribute to a safety- and quality-first culture when integrating AI development assistance.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Engage with the Open-Source community, other SonarSourcers, and the Support team and integrate their feedback.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Foster continuous improvement within your squad by participating in retrospectives, sharing your technical expertise, and taking on a fair share of the team’s workload.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800">The Experience You Will Need:</h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Proven track record in software development with a strong focus on C# and the .NET ecosystem.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Excellent engineering skills and a good understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and agile methodologies.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Fluency in source code quality and associated practices: clean code principles, tests (unit and functional), CI/CD, and code reviews.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">​​Experience with, or a strong interest in, AI-assisted coding —paired with the ability to systematically and critically assess the accuracy, reliability, usability, and security of AI-generated code.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Fluency in English, both written and spoken.</li></ul>Why you will love it here:• Our culture and mission set us apart.
