As a Sr. Software Engineer at SpruceID, you will be responsible for developing cross-platform libraries, server software, full-stack applications, and infrastructure using technologies like Rust. You will collaborate with public sector and enterprise customers, leading team members in design and execution. This role involves writing secure, professionally audited software, contributing to global technology standards, and utilizing cryptographic APIs. The role requires a strong aptitude for statically typed languages, memory management, and secure programming practices. The role involves implementing digital signatures, message authentication, encryption/decryption, and zero-knowledge proof protocols for production applications.

You will work directly with public sector and enterprise customers and lead team members on design and execution. You will coordinate with other leaders at the company including Delivery, Product, and GTM.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size: 16px">Our software is secure by design, professionally audited, and suitable for high stakes applications. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to emerging global technology standards for digital identity. While we don't require you to have Rust experience to apply for this job, you should demonstrate a strong aptitude for statically typed languages, memory management, and secure programming practices.</span></div><div><br></div><div>For this role, you must be based in the US.</div><div><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul class="posting-requirements plain-list"><ul><li>Lead development of products and solutions for public sector and enterprise customers</li><li>Work closely with customer delivery leads, engineers, product managers, and UX designers</li><li>Contribute to new and existing Rust codebases that run on backend services, mobile devices, and in the browser</li><li>Write full-stack web and mobile applications</li><li>With support and review from cryptographers, use cryptographic APIs to implement digital signatures, message authentication, encryption/decryption, and zero-knowledge proof protocols for production applications&nbsp; </li></ul></ul></div><div><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul class="posting-requirements plain-list"><ul><li>5+ years experience shipping widely-distributed backend software in statically-typed languages</li><li>Experience building web or mobile frontends using either Javascript, Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, or React Native&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with devops and infrastructure using AWS, GCP, or Azure</li><li>Experience leading cross functional teams of engineers</li><li>Aptitude for computer security, correct use of cryptography, and user data privacy</li><li>Experience collaborating with geographically and culturally diverse engineering teams</li></ul></ul></div><div><h3>Bonus</h3><ul class="posting-requirements plain-list"><ul><li>Experience working on public sector or enterprise software, interacting directly with customers</li><li>Contributions to open source software projects and technology standards</li><li>Familiarity with operating system internals, compiler internals, memory management, and low level programming</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field</li></ul></ul></div><div>We are passionate about cultivating a thriving culture of diverse individuals who bring unique perspectives to our mission.
