As a Senior Software Engineer for the Connectors team at Dataminr, you will lead the research, design, and execution of high-performance connectors and integrations, linking the core platform to the broader tech landscape. This role involves deep systems thinking, hands-on coding, and mentoring an engineering team. You will be responsible for technical leadership, system architecture, defining data contracts, ensuring engineering excellence, and implementing operations and observability for your team's services.

As a Senior Software Engineer for the Connectors team, you will be the technical anchor for our integration ecosystem. You will lead the research, design, and execution of high-performance connectors and integrations that link our core platform to the broader tech landscape. Learn more here.<h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800">In this job, you'll get to...</h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Technical Leadership & Autonomy: Lead the research, prototyping, and execution of new connectors using API/webhook-based integrations from conception to production.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">System Architecture: Design robust data flows and workflows, ensuring integrations are scalable, resilient, and maintainable.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Contract & Requirement Ownership: Partner with upstream engineering teams to define data contracts and collaborate with Product stakeholders to lead tradeoff discussions between business requirements and technical feasibility.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Engineering Excellence: Proactively identify and resolve technical blockers. You will be responsible for your own implementations, ensuring testing frameworks (unit, functional, and manual) are extendable and repeatable.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Operations & Observability: Define and implement metrics for monitoring, alerting, and analytics. You will build CI/CD pipelines and be using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and participate in on-call rotations for your team's services.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Mentorship: Actively coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high-quality code through constructive reviews.</li></ul><h3 class="text-xl md:text-2xl font-bold mt-8 mb-3 text-gray-800">What You Bring (Qualifications)</h3><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Backend Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience with Python and at least 2 years of experience with Java.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Integration Mastery: Deep working knowledge of building and consuming REST APIs, webhooks, and managing data contracts.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Cloud & Serverless: Proven experience with microservices, serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda) and queuing systems (e.g., SNS/SQS).</li><li class="leading-relaxed">DevOps Mindset: 5+ years of experience with deployment pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization (Docker).</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Data Systems: Proficiency in both SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Documentation: Ability to contribute to high-quality technical documentation, including runbooks and knowledge guides.</li></ul>At Dataminr, we are a mission driven team of talented builders, creators and visionaries who have real-world impact on how organizations are able to respond to events.
