Cloud Engineer

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for building and managing cloud-based infrastructure using DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices. This role will involve designing, building, and implementing technical solutions to migrate to the cloud. Responsibilities include building infrastructure services for various product lines, creating preventative solutions to reduce support incidents, deploying infrastructure features to production and fixing production infrastructure bugs, reviewing and identifying ways to improve performance and stability of cloud services and applications through continuous improvement and automation, participating in sprint planning and utilizing Jira, collaborating with the Cloud-DevOps Manager to promote skills across the team, contributing to knowledge asset building using Confluence, managing backlog and grooming with the Cloud-DevOps Manager, participating in daily stand-ups and unblocking team members with technical guidance or external dependency management, conducting sprint retrospectives focused on continuous improvement, ensuring visibility of actions taken by the scrum master, demonstrating work to consuming teams, generating weekly reports, and focusing on gradually improving the scrum team's velocity.

 Role purpose The candidate will be responsible for build and manage cloud based infrastructure using Devops and “Infrastructure as a code” practices. Reporting into the Infrastructure Services Technical Manager, he/she will be responsible for the design, build and implementation of technical solutions working towards migrating to the Cloud. What You Will Be Doing <ul><li>Build the infrastructure services for different product lines with in travelex using cloud computing tools</li><li>Building the pre-emptive solutions to reduce support incidences</li><li> Working on Releasing infrastructure features on to production and fix the production infrastructure bugs</li><li>Review and identify ways to improve performance and stability of services and applications running on Cloud Infrastructure through continuous improvement and automation </li><li>Running Sprint Planning and familier with JIRA.</li><li>Would work with Cloud-Devops Mgr. to promote breadth of skills across the team members. </li><li>Would focus on knowledge asset build up through confluence. </li><li>Backlog management and grooming with Cloud-DevOps Manager</li><li>Daily Standup with responsibility of unblocking team members either with technical direction or external non-technical dependency management. </li><li>Sprint retro with focus on continuous improvement sprint by sprint.. Actions taken by scrum master should be visible.</li><li>Conduct demo with all teams consuming Cloud-DevOps work.</li><li>Weekly reporting </li><li>Focus on Gradual improvement of velocity of scrum team. </li></ul>
What We Are Looking For <ul><li>4+ Years of experience on AWS </li><li>Operational knowledge in Docker containers and Orchestration of containers on AWS using ECS and FARAG </li><li> Knowledge on configuration and management of AWS Elastic load balancer </li><li>Hands on exposure to building containers using scripts ( Docker file , Docker compose) </li><li>Knowledge about AWS RDS, S3 ,IAM </li><li> Experience in using IAC tools like terraform or Cloud formation and Ansible</li><li>Understanding and implementation of cloud trail / cloud watch monitoring tools</li><li>Working knowledge on CI/CD for web based and Client applications</li><li>Experience with source controlled systems like Git and knowledge of PowerShell scripting</li><li>Strong Experience with Scrum Delivery Process.</li></ul>
