Job Summary
As an AI Performance and Projection Engineer at Intel, you will model AI hardware and software (GPU/accelerator) for performance analysis, identifying critical kernels and patterns in AI workloads. Your role involves estimating ideal performance, enhancing and maintaining performance modeling toolkits, and correlating projections with device/simulator data. You will also propose software and kernel optimizations and study new deep learning networks for future requirements, contributing to Intel's strategic penetration of the AI market.
Must Have
- Model AI HW & SW (GPU/accelerator) for performance analysis.
- Analyze AI workloads to identify critical kernels & patterns.
- Estimate ideal performance of kernels & workloads for a given HW spec.
- Enhance & maintain the performance modeling toolkit for projections.
- Correlate projected performance with device/simulator & improve models.
- Propose optimizations in SW & kernel implementation to improve WL perf.
- Study new & different DL networks for future optimization requirements.
- BS with 9+, Masters with 6+, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Programming in Python/C++.
- Strong in Data Structures/Algorithms.
- Worked on large SW projects.
- Knowledge of computer architecture & compiler fundamentals.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Work well in a team environment.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with AI algorithms (e.g. LLMs) & DL and serving frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, JAX, vLLM, SGLang, HF).

Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school-work/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS with 9+, Masters with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years, of relevant industry experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering related technical discipline.
- Programming in Python/C++, strong in Data Structures/Algorithms, worked on large SW projects.
- Knowledge of computer architecture & compiler fundamentals
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
