Animatic Editor - Ted & Paula's Tadpole Journey

Join us for Ted & Paula’s Tadpole Journey, a new Gigglebug original 2D animated series. We are seeking an Animatic Editor to join our Helsinki studio team. This role involves creating rough animatic cuts from storyboards, ensuring pacing and humor, applying temporary sound effects and camera moves, and managing animatic updates and exports. You will collaborate closely with Directors and the Editorial team to bring the series vision to life.

Must Have

• Do rough animatic cuts from storyboard
• Cut the episode to length
• Ensure pacing and jokes land
• Bring the Director’s vision to life
• Apply temporary SoundFX and Camera Moves
• Address Animatic Notes
• Update pick-ups to the animatics
• Do various exports to departments
• Minimum one Animatic Editor credit on an animation
• Minimum two years’ experience in Animation
• Strong sense of timing and storytelling
• Experience in comedy and action
• Good knowledge of story structure
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to take direction
• Understanding of 2D concepts and workflows
• Knowledge of Storyboard Pro and Premiere Pro
• Ability to adapt to varying production demands
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines

Join us for Ted & Paula’s Tadpole Journey - a new Gigglebug original series!

The 52 x 11 min 2D animated series combines action with silly cartoony comedy.

We are looking for an additional Animatic Editor to support our talented team. At the Gigglebug Studio, you would be part of a friendly and tight-knit team, working in collaboration with the Directors, the Editorial team, Production and all of our talented artists!

Note - the position is at our Helsinki studio, so candidates who are already in Finland or who are willing to relocate to Helsinki will be prioritized.

Under the supervision of the Series Director, you will be responsible for:

• Doing rough animatic cuts from storyboard - cutting the episode to length, making sure that the pacing of the episode works and the jokes land. In general - bringing the Director’s vision to life
• Applying temporary SoundFX and applicable Camera Moves and transitions
• Addressing Animatic Notes as and when received
• Updating pick-ups to the animatics
• Doing various exports to the following departments

Requirements

• Minimum of one Animatic Editor credit on an animation
• Minimum of two years’ experience of working in Animation
• Strong sense of timing and storytelling - experience in comedy and action and good knowledge of story structure
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to take direction
• Understanding of 2D concepts and workflows
• Knowledge of working on Storyboard Pro and Premiere Pro
• Ability to adapt to varying production demands and shifting priorities
• Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
• Passion for cartoons
