Get to know the role

  • Job Title: Associate Project Manager
  • Job Summary: This role will coordinate and support various areas of video game localisation. Areas of work include coordinating mobile app localisation tasks through to release and beyond, glossary term management, Q&A management and various other tasks related to the video game localisation process. This role also involves handle daily communication with localisation vendors and other external partners in English and Japanese.
  • This role is offered as a 1-year fixed-term contract for maternity cover.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate video game localisation from Japanese/English into target languages (predominantly French/German/Italian/Spanish). This involves coordinating tasks and schedules with various internal and external partners in the UK, US, Japan and continental Europe, from initial planning stages through to localisation QA, release and beyond.
  • Internal Q&A management.
  • Manage and submit glossary terms to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To assist internal and external partners as necessary, including Localisation Management (Localisation Support and Artwork teams), Localisation and marketing teams, etc.               

What you’ll bring

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of related professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and shifting schedules.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in working with a team of translators of multiple languages.
  • Knowledge of French, German, Italian, Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese is advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in mobile apps/games is advantageous but not essential.

  • Base salary range: For this role, new hires generally start between £39,000.00 - £46,550.00. The full range is £39,000.00 - £59,000.00. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
