Job Summary

Valeo is seeking a Chief Accountant for its Finance CSP in Étaples. This role involves supervising the preparation of statutory accounts and monthly financial reporting in line with IFRS, managing tax charges and returns, and ensuring accurate monthly tax declarations. The Chief Accountant will also oversee payroll entries, provisions, and employee benefits, reconcile IFRS/Statutory equity, and supervise accounting ledgers. The position requires promoting internal control, updating procedures, coordinating with site accountants, and supporting audit processes. Additionally, it includes people management responsibilities for the finance team.

Must Have

  • Supervise preparation of statutory accounts and monthly financial reporting (IFRS)
  • Manage monthly tax charge and annual tax returns
  • Ensure accurate monthly tax declaration (VAT, customs & duties)
  • Control and manage payroll entries & accruals and payroll interface in SAP
  • Supervision of complete accounting ledgers
  • Promote, explain, control Internal Control framework
  • Supervise preparation and ensure relevant documentation for external and tax auditors
  • People management (training, career development, identifying high potentials)

Job Description

  • Supervise preparation of statutory accounts and monthly financial reporting in line with IFRS
  • Manage monthly tax charge and annual tax returns
  • Ensure accurate monthly tax declaration (VAT; customs & duties…)
  • Coordinates information on all changes in local regulation principles regarding accounting and taxes
  • Ensure monthly closing files elaboration with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Controls and manages all payroll entries & accruals and payroll interface in SAP
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all provisions and employee benefits (pensions)
  • Reconciliation of IFRS/Statutory equity
  • Supervise the preparation and ensure accurate reporting in GPS of RS and tax package
  • Supervision of complete accounting ledgers (receivables, payables, fixed assets, general)
  • Promote, explain, control Internal Control framework within his/her perimeter. Monitor and drive Internal Control improvement plans to mitigate risks
  • Update accounting procedures
  • Ensure close coordination and communication with site accountants support
  • Supervise preparation and ensure relevant documentation for external auditors and tax auditors
  • Participation of review with External Auditors
  • Supports documentation for grant, tax credit and subsidies
  • Contribute to Group Ethics & Compliance program by applying and respecting code of Ethics and Valeo’s policies.
  • People management: Supports in the training and career development of finance people. Creates a proactive team within his/her perimeter and help identifying high potentials.
