Job Summary
This role involves managing complex software system projects within Thales' Electronic Combat System (ECS) Business Line in Brest, France. The projects focus on the SPECTRA Electronic Warfare suite's programming system for the RAFALE. The Project Manager will oversee projects from inception to closure, ensuring technical, industrial, and financial success, client satisfaction, and rigorous baseline management. The position requires coordinating internal teams, external partners, and clients, and providing regular reporting to management.
Must Have
- Significant operational experience in project or lot management for software-intensive information systems in complex environments.
- Experience in defense markets.
- Proven project management skills to deliver contracts technically, industrially, and financially, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Proficiency in managing schedules, costs, risks/opportunities, and workloads to maintain rigorous baselines.
- Ability to effectively lead and coordinate all project stakeholders (providers, internal teams, partners, client).
- Ability to provide necessary reporting to management.
- Strong interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary environments.
- Leadership, rigor, organization, and excellent communication.
- Good level of English.
- Ability to access national defense secret information (requires security clearance).

Your daily life
The Brest site hosts our digital services activities as well as Thales' expertise in development, integration, and maintenance for maritime patrol and surveillance systems, electronic warfare, sonar systems, and airborne anti-submarine warfare.
Within the Electronic Combat System (ECS) Business Line and the "Mission Preparation and Restitution Product Line" (PMRM) team, you will be responsible for leading projects and/or work packages from entry into force until closure (transition to support). These projects concern the programming system (SPBS) of the RAFALE's SPECTRA Electronic Warfare suite.
Your profile
A graduate of an engineering school or equivalent university degree (Bac+5), you have significant operational experience in project management (PM) or work package management (WPM) of information systems with predominant software in a complex environment, and experience in Defense markets.
You possess :
- Proven project management skills, enabling you to successfully complete contracts on technical, industrial, and financial levels and ensure client satisfaction.
- Proficiency in managing schedules, costs, risks/opportunities, and workloads to maintain rigorous baselines.
- Ability to effectively lead and coordinate all project stakeholders (providers, internal teams, partners, client), and ensure necessary reporting to Management.
- Interpersonal skills allowing you to interact with ease in a multidisciplinary environment with varied constraints.
Skills related to software engineering are an important asset, as is knowledge of product mode / multi-project / multi-milestone development.
Your leadership, rigor, organization, and excellent communication are essential for success in this position. You have a good level of English.
The position requires access to information classified as National Defense secret, and the selected person will undergo a security clearance procedure.
