Job Description

The Consulting Manager will lead a team in researching Federal and State Schedule K-1 forms, determining proper tax return line flows, and maintaining K-1 mapping documentation. The role involves monitoring regulatory changes, performing QA testing, identifying tax data discrepancies, and providing tax law interpretation to the software development team. They will analyze and apply state and federal tax rules to proprietary software, ultimately ensuring the quality and user experience of the tax software.

Must Have:

  • 8-14 years of US tax experience with multiple tax return types (1040, 1120, 1065, 1041)
  • 6+ years of US tax experience with State Tax Returns

Consulting Manager:

Experience: 8 to 14 years

1. Leading the team to conduct in-depth research on Federal and State Schedule K-1 forms to determine proper line flows into the target tax return.

2. Maintain and update K-1 mapping documentation using Excel. Coordination with stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery of tasks.

3. Monitor and analyze changes in government-issued K-1 forms and ensure corresponding updates in mapping and documentation.

4. Perform QA testing to verify accuracy of K-1 line flows and resolve discrepancies.

5. Identify discrepancies, anomalies, or potential risks in tax data, calculations, or filings and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

6. The Consulting Manager must be versed in tax law, capable of providing clarification and interpretation to the software development team when needed, as well as conducting tax research.

7. Perform the analysis, research, and interpretation of state and federal tax rules and regulations and apply this knowledge through implementation of our proprietary software development application

8. Long-term opportunities include training on the software's programming langue and developing the content calculations, workflow, and quality assurance. Ultimately, the Tax Analyst is responsible for the overall Quality of the tax software and ensuring the best user experience.

Skills and Qualification

  • Minimum 8 to 14 years of US tax experience ideally with multiple tax return type (Eg. 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041, etc.)
  • Minimum 6 Years of US tax experience ideally with State Tax Returns.
  • Good to have experience in XML and E-filing
  • Good to have experience in CCH Axcess Tax
