Data Partnerships @ Clay

Clay powers cutting-edge GTM teams around the world with a deep ecosystem of 150+ data partners — and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for a data partnerships rockstar to elevate this ecosystem even further by identifying, attracting, and negotiating with the top data vendors globally. This role sits at the heart of Clay’s differentiation: our ability to orchestrate world-class data into a seamless, magical customer experience.

You’ll work closely with leadership, product, growth, and marketing to shape the future of data at Clay: expanding coverage into new verticals and geographies, improving data quality and breadth, building flywheels that make our partners stronger, and helping customers understand exactly which data sources perform best for every task. If you love blending strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-moving environment, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Own and expand Clay’s data ecosystem

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with top-tier data providers around the world, expanding Clay’s coverage across industries, use cases, and markets.
  • Build a long-term roadmap of which data partners we need to unlock new verticals, new markets, and new product capabilities.

Drive high-impact commercial and strategic partnerships

  • Lead negotiations covering licensing, usage rights, pricing, data quality terms, and partnership structure.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with our 150+ existing partners, ensuring Clay remains a top strategic channel for their growth.

Shape how data shows up in Clay

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence how data is presented, routed, and recommended to customers.
  • Help develop a system where customers get clarity on which data vendor performs best for each task, industry, or geography.

Build the Clay Partner Flywheel

  • Create mechanisms for our data vendors to gain value from Clay — marketing opportunities, visibility, usage analytics, and quality feedback loops.
  • Help partners improve their data sets using insights from Clay usage, customer behaviors, and performance results.

Drive operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration

  • Work with leadership, finance, legal, and growth teams to align partnerships with product strategy, compliance standards, and Clay’s long-term cost structure.
  • Develop internal processes to manage partner performance, evaluate data quality, and measure ROI on each partnership.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in data partnerships, business development, strategic finance, analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data ecosystems — APIs, enrichment providers, licensing structures, data quality frameworks, and usage rights.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements and build strong relationships with external partners.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work seamlessly across Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, GTM, and Leadership.
  • Sharp analytical skills, comfort working with data, and the ability to translate insights into strategy and action.
  • A proactive, resourceful, fast-moving mindset — you thrive in a dynamic environment with many moving pieces and large surface area.

At Clay, this role represents a rare opportunity: the chance to build the most powerful data ecosystem in the market and shape how the next generation of GTM teams discover, analyze, and take action on data. If you're excited about scaling a high-leverage function with massive strategic impact, we’d love to meet you.
