DevOps/System Engineer

We are seeking an experienced DevOps/System Engineer to join SOFTSWISS. This role involves building, operating, and evolving a reliable and scalable infrastructure, collaborating with product development teams, and supporting business growth. The focus is on maintaining a stable, highly automated infrastructure, designing and improving components, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to ensure platform reliability and operational efficiency.

Must Have

• Collaborate with product development teams and stakeholders
• Prepare, maintain, and support infrastructure
• Implement and deliver new features
• Automate infrastructure components
• Investigate and resolve problems and incidents
• Develop and optimize CI pipelines
• Manage infrastructure migrations
• Provide consultation to developers, managers, and clients
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Respond proactively to monitoring alerts
• Minimum 3 years experience in systems engineering, SRE, or DevOps
• Good understanding of Linux-like operating systems
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack) and shell scripting
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, LXC/LXD
• Solid understanding of CI/CD process and Gitlab CI
• Experience with distributed systems
• Familiarity with Prometheus stack/Zabbix
• Experience in system design
• Development skills in a scripting language
• Experience in database administration (PostgreSQL)
• Ability to adapt to new technologies
• Intermediate or higher English level

Overview:

In this role, you will work closely with product development teams and key stakeholders to support business growth, improve system stability, and ensure efficient delivery of new features across multiple environments.

Purpose of the role:

This role focuses on maintaining a stable, scalable, and highly automated infrastructure that supports reliable product delivery.

You will design, operate, and improve infrastructure components, enhance CI/CD pipelines, monitor system health, and respond to incidents to ensure platform reliability.

By working with distributed systems and managing infrastructure migrations, you will help the company continuously improve operational efficiency and adapt the platform to evolving business needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product development teams and various stakeholders.
• Prepare new infrastructure, maintenance, and support of current infrastructure.
• Implement and deliver new features.
• Automate infrastructure components.
• Investigate and resolve problems and incidents.
• Develop and optimize CI pipelines for various projects.
• Manage infrastructure migrations between data centers.
• Provide consultation to developers, managers, and clients.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Respond proactively to monitoring alerts and events.

Required Experience:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering or a similar role such as SRE or DevOps.
• Good understanding of Linux-like operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack) and shell scripting.
• Experience with containerization, virtualization, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, LXC/LXD)
• Solid understanding of the CI/CD process and tools (Gitlab CI).
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus stack/Zabbix).
• Experience in system design
• Development skills in any widely used scripting language.
• Experience in database administration (preferably PostgreSQL).
• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and evolving business needs.
• Intermediate or higher level of English (B1+).
