The role is for a Digital Radar Development Manager at Thales's Limours site, a major surface radar center of excellence. The position involves leading the development of the digital components for a new generation radar within the Radar Embedded Processing (REP) competence center. Your daily life

Located 20 minutes from the Paris-Saclay technology hub, the site is one of the largest centers of excellence for surface radars. We contribute to developing, designing, integrating, and testing air surveillance radars dedicated to target detection and identification.

The REP (Radar Embedded Processing) competence center designs, builds, and integrates the embedded digital systems of Thales radars. The performance of these radars relies on these complex and demanding digital systems, which require excellent mastery of several IT and electronics fields: signal processing, real-time software, artificial intelligence, digital hardware, FPGA, cybersecurity… Our activities cover the entire system cycle:

• Digital system architecture studies: network flows, processing and filtering capacity, monitoring and control
• Design of specific cards for very high-speed signal processing (several terabytes / second)
• Development of real-time software on high-performance parallel machines based on DSP and X86 processors
• Configuration and securing of operating systems and internal flows
• Integration and qualification of the radar's digital system, before integration into the complete radar.

Attached to the Radar Embedded Processing (REP) competence center within the Surface Radar Domain (SRA), you will be responsible for the development of the digital part of a new generation radar.

By joining us, you will be entrusted with the following missions:

• Lead the digital development team composed of several software components, calculators, and digital integration and verification platforms
• You are responsible for the digital development plan, the activity dashboard, meeting milestones, the quality of deliverables, managing risks and opportunities, and reporting to a steering committee.
• Work in close collaboration and in an integrated team with a radar development manager who leads the entire solution, including system engineering (SE) and system integration, verification, validation, and qualification (IVVQ) activities.
• Streamline interactions between disciplines (SE, digital, IVVQ) with a deliverable flow reasoning driven by milestones.
• Manage the workload plan for the digital development team.
• Present a common voice and coherent actions allowing the entire development team (SE, digital, IVVQ) to work for a collective optimum.

Your profile
