Job Summary
Lionsgate has an immediate opening for a Director, Finance. This person is responsible for overall monitoring of quarter closes to ensure timely SEC report filing and successful review/audit by our outside auditor. Position has direct reports. This person is also a key leader on finance and accounting projects for senior management, including M&A activities, due diligence, capital and debt offerings, process improvement, and financial system development. They will also advise on system implementation accounting for complex transactions.
Must Have
- Monitor quarter closes for SEC filing.
- Lead finance/accounting projects for senior management.
- Advise on system implementation accounting.
- Manage chart of accounts structure.
- Oversee joint venture/subsidiary accounting.
- Assist with acquisition accounting.
- Manage intercompany accounts, eliminations, royalties.
- Support FP&A and Tax departments.
- Record film forecast participations/residuals.
- Signatory on company bank accounts.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 10+ years relevant work experience.
- Systems design and implementation experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Very strong Excel skills.
Good to Have
- CPA license desired.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Public Accounting experience desired.

Job Description
Summary of Position

This person is also a key leader on finance and accounting projects for senior management. These projects may include M&A activities, due diligence and integration activities, capital and debt offerings, finance and accounting process improvement projects, financial system development and implementation. This person will also be a key leader for system implementation accounting, advising and providing system process and set-up guidance on complex transactions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for chart of accounts structure including title code controls
- Oversee accounting for various joint ventures and subsidiaries with individual reporting requirements
- Assist with acquisition accounting and integration.
- Directly responsible for intercompany accounts, eliminations and royalties
- Assist Financial Planning and Analysis and Tax
- Department with information requests Directly responsible for recording of non-individual film forecast participations and residuals liability / expense
- Signatory on majority of company bank accounts
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 10+ years of total relevant work experience
- Systems design and implementation experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adhere to deadlines with a positive and professional attitude
- Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with internal personnel, departments outside of accounting, and executive level personnel. Position gives exposure to CFO, CAO, and other company executives
- Strong writing and analytical skills, high level attention to detail
- Ability to self-motivate, be proactive and function independently
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize under tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Very strong Excel skills
Nice to Haves

Compensation
$140,000 – $150,000
