AFRY is seeking an Electrical Engineer for their Road & Rail business unit in Aarhus, Denmark. The role involves designing and consulting on technical infrastructure facilities, including roads, bridges, and tunnels. Responsibilities span the entire project lifecycle from idea generation, preliminary studies, design, tendering, supervision, testing, and commissioning, to ongoing operation and maintenance. The engineer will work in an ambitious, interdisciplinary team focused on sustainable transport infrastructure.

Must Have

  • Educational background as a Marine Engineer (electrical focus), Electrical Installer, or Electrical Engineer
  • Some years of experience in a similar position
  • Professional proficiency in Danish (written and spoken)
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Driver's license (B)
  • Knowledge of the installation area
  • Experience with project lifecycle (design, tendering, supervision, testing, commissioning)
  • Ability to manage documentation and handover to operations
  • Experience with planning and technical assistance for operation and maintenance

We are looking for an electrical engineer with expertise and interest in installations for infrastructure facilities for our Road & Rail business unit. In Road & Rail, we develop and advise on sustainable transport infrastructure for future generations. You will become part of an ambitious interdisciplinary team that prides itself on finding functional, well-thought-out, and innovative solutions. Road, tunnel, railway, and ITS are some of the core areas.

About the job

In the Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team, we work dedicatedly with all phases of a project process from idea phase, preliminary studies, design, tendering, up to supervision, testing, and final commissioning.

In your daily work, in connection with installations for infrastructure facilities on roads, bridges, and in tunnels, you will work on projects from start to finish, as well as in the subsequent period with operation and maintenance, including tasks such as:

  • Project proposals, requirement specifications, and technology selection
  • Design descriptions, requirement specifications, and project materials for tenders, etc.
  • Ongoing follow-up and supervision of contractors, on construction projects under execution, and facilities in operation
  • Final testing and commissioning
  • Collection and updating of facility documentation and handover of facilities to operating organizations
  • Planning, coordination, supervision, technical assistance, etc., in connection with the operation and maintenance of established facilities

Qualifications

You have an educational background as a Marine Engineer with an electrical focus, electrical installer, or electrical engineer, and preferably with some years of experience in a similar position.

  • Can act professionally as a consultant in the field between client and contractor
  • Can communicate professionally in both Danish and English in writing and speech.
