Job Summary
The Expert Support Engineer (Senior Technical Architect – Cloud Infrastructure) leads the design, architecture, and governance of secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud infrastructure solutions across public, private, and hybrid environments. This role involves defining architecture standards, leading design for new cloud services, overseeing security and cost optimization, and providing technical oversight for IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, and identity services. The architect also drives cloud transformation, evaluates emerging technologies, and mentors engineering teams.
Must Have
- Define cloud infrastructure architecture, standards, and best practices.
- Lead design and delivery of large-scale cloud solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for containerization, microservices, serverless, and DevOps automation.
- Oversee cloud governance, cost management, and security compliance.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend strategic adoption.
- Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Establish capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Mentor architects, engineers, and support teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive infrastructure experience, with 5+ years in cloud architecture roles.
- Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure design and operations (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
- Strong knowledge of networking, security, identity, and hybrid cloud integration.
- Hands-on experience with IaC and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM, etc.).
- Proficiency in container and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/GKE).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and observability solutions.
- Strong knowledge of governance, compliance, and FinOps principles in cloud.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Overview
The Senior Technical Architect – Cloud Infrastructure is responsible for leading the design, architecture, and governance of cloud-based infrastructure solutions. This role provides deep technical expertise across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, ensuring that solutions are secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and aligned with enterprise strategy. The Sr. Architect partners with leadership, engineering, and operations teams to drive cloud transformation, modernization, and innovation initiatives while mentoring technical teams.
Scope
- Define and own cloud infrastructure architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs
- Lead architecture and design for new cloud services, migrations, and modernization programs
- Govern cloud platform security, compliance, resiliency, and cost optimization practices
- Provide technical oversight across IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, and identity services
- Partner with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy
- Evaluate and introduce emerging cloud technologies, automation, and best-practice frameworks
- Support roadmap planning, capacity forecasting, and platform scalability initiatives
- Mentor engineering teams, enabling skill development and consistent architectural adoption

What you’ll do (Add KPI’s & Specific Responsibilities)
- Define cloud infrastructure architecture, standards, and best practices across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Lead the design and delivery of large-scale cloud solutions including migration, hybrid integration, and modernization initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership for projects involving containerization, microservices, serverless, and DevOps automation.
- Oversee cloud governance, cost management, and security compliance in alignment with organizational policies.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies, conduct PoCs, and recommend strategic adoption.
- Collaborate with application, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment.
- Establish capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies in cloud environments.
- Lead vendor/partner engagements and provide expertise in contract and solution negotiations.
- Mentor and guide architects, engineers, and support teams across cloud and infrastructure domains.
- Present cloud strategy, architecture roadmaps, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 12+ years of progressive infrastructure experience, with 5+ years in cloud architecture roles.
