What You'll Do
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and make publication decisions (publish, decline, or provide feedback) on financial analysis and macro articles from global independent analysts.
- Edit, proofread, and publish diverse financial content, including stock/bond analysis, industry commentary, economic overviews, technical analysis, ETF analysis, and event-driven theses.
- Implement editorial policy to ensure adherence to requirements and avoid non-negotiables.
- Ensure fast turnaround times while ensuring a high quality of articles approved for publication, with unique, in-depth, well-supported, and reader-friendly analyses and insights.
- Co-manage email inboxes for smooth communication with analysts.
- Manage content effectively, ensuring accuracy and relevance of titles, tickers, tags, and other housekeeping items for published articles.
- Report to a Team Leader and Managing Editor and escalate cases requiring additional scrutiny or policy interpretation.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Undergo training on Seeking Alpha’s content management system and exhibit proficiency at proactive queue management.
- Be open to working on weekends, at night, and in shifts that are in line with other Analysis Editors in the U.S., Israel, and India teams.
- Be available and responsive on Slack during shift hours (5 days X 9 hours, including breaks).
Requirements
- You are a financial editor with 3+ years of professional editorial experience in finance and capital markets, for a respected financial publication or website.
- You possess a sophisticated understanding of financial markets, particularly U.S. stocks, with a commitment to continuous learning.
- You boast exceptional written and spoken English skills, impeccable grammar, and a robust understanding of financial, investment, and business terminology.
- You thrive on teamwork and collaboration, but can also work independently without active supervision.
- You are driven by detail but can easily grasp the bigger picture.
- You are accountable for your own productivity and performance, but also willing to adopt team and company goals as your own.
