Job Summary

As an Advanced Functional Safety Engineer at Aptiv, you will be responsible for analyzing customer safety requirements, preparing Technical Safety Concepts, and managing interactions with stakeholders. Your role involves designing and developing embedded software solutions for automotive applications, integrating development activities with standards like AUTOSAR and ASPICE, and ensuring ISO 26262 compliance. You will implement safety mechanisms and coordinate reviews to maintain functional safety throughout the product lifecycle.

Must Have

  • Ensure ISO 26262 certified/qualified SW tools are used
  • Support teams to integrate safety mechanisms per ISO 26262
  • Define and coordinate confirmation/verification reviews
  • Experience with Linux/QNX/Vxworks/SafeRTOS
  • BE/B.Tech (Electricals/ Electronics/ Instrumentation, Robotics) degree
  • 7-12 years of experience, including a minimum of 4 years in Functional Safety with hands-on SW development, Safety Analysis, and Tool Qualification

Job Description

Advanced Functional Safety Engineer with POSIX experience

As an Advanced FuSa Engineer, you will be working as FS SW Advanced Engineer for Advance Safety, UX & BCM projects.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Analyzing customer safety requirements and supporting the engineering team to prepare the Technical Safety Concept and Technical Safety
  • Managing all functional safety relevant interactions with internal and external stakeholders, working on POCs, RFQs, and bringing up the technical SW architecture
  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for automotive applications, leveraging expertise in embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Developing FuSa software requirements
  • Integrate embedded software development activities into the automotive product development process, following established procedures and standards such as AUTOSAR and ASPICE.
  • Implementation of Safety Mechanisms, Safe States, and other technical FS aspects to the teams
  • Ensuring ISO 26262 certified or Qualified SW tools are used for product development and production
  • Supporting all competency teams to integrate safety mechanisms in accordance with ISO 26262
  • Defining and coordinating confirmation/verification reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are met throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Experience on Linux/QNX/Vxworks/SafeRTOS is mandatory

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • A graduate in BE/B.Tech (Electricals/ Electronics/ Instrumentation, Robotics) with 7–12 years of experience, including a minimum of 4 years in Functional Safety with hands-on SW development, Safety Analysis, and Tool Qualification
