Job Summary
The Graduate Systems Engineer I at CME Group supports Server Platforms, focusing on Windows and Linux systems. Must Have
- Analyze requirements and support existing development/QA platforms (under supervision)
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic systems (Linux/Windows), distributed computing architecture, h/w platforms, and resources
- Document deployment and configuration procedures
- Define simple problems and describe cause and effect
- Troubleshoot simple, known issues and document resolution (with support)
- Experience with Linux & Windows-based systems and Cloud-based platform(s)
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
Good to Have
- Experience and knowledge of working with distributed systems
- Exposure to working with metrics & monitoring: Splunk, Grafana etc.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code
- Competent scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
Job Description
The Graduate Systems Engineer supports, under direct supervision, the Server Platforms at CME Group. The incumbent must have a basic understanding of server (Windows and/or Linux) deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and security. Communication and documentation skills are required as the candidate will typically be working with a number of colleagues and internal teams for support and new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes requirements, with supervision, and supports existing development/QA platforms
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic systems (Linux/Windows), distributed computing architecture (client server, intranet/internet), h/w platforms, and resources - CPU, memory, end-user devices, peripherals.
- Documents deployment and configuration procedures.
- Defines simple problems and describes the cause and effect relationship.
- Troubleshoots simple, known issues with support and works with supervision to document problem resolution.
