Job Summary

As an Analytics Engineer based in Lyon, you will work on issues at the intersection of data science, data analysis, and data engineering. Your role is to set up relevant datasets for clients or internal needs: well-modeled, documented, reliable in terms of quality and availability, meeting the needs of subsequent uses. As a lead, you will share your expertise within the firm and externally, and participate in formalizing offers based on your expertise. You will analyze data access needs, implement data flows and models using modern data stacks, expose data in BI & visualization tools, and maintain pipelines with alerts & data quality tests.

Must Have

  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • Mastery of GCP, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Python, SQL, Airflow, dbt, Git
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to manage an analytical project end-to-end autonomously and rigorously
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs to translate them into exploitable and high-quality data structures
  • Desire to support and develop junior consultants on expertise and modern data stacks
  • Fluent in French and English

Good to Have

  • Experience or desire to work on data marketing issues
  • Experience or desire to work in consulting

Job Description

As an Analytics Engineer, based in our Lyon office, you will work on issues at the intersection of data science, data analysis, and data engineering. Your role is to set up relevant datasets for our clients or internal needs: well-modeled, documented, reliable in terms of quality and availability, meeting the needs of subsequent uses.

As a lead, you will bring expertise and make it shine within the firm and externally, and participate in formalizing offers based on your expertise.

To do this, you will intervene at different stages of projects:

  • Analysis of data access needs, in collaboration with business users, data analysts, and dataviz engineers
  • Implementation of data flows and models, based on modern data stacks (SQL, dbt, ELT tools, GCP/Azure/AWS/Snowflake, etc.)
  • Data exposure in BI & visualization tools
  • Maintenance of pipelines and implementation of alerts & data quality tests

Some examples of missions by way of illustration:

  • Construction of a Customer Data Platform for a large retailer (8 brands / 30+ countries)
  • Migration of a large dashboard infrastructure based on a Supermetrics stack to an Adverity+BigQuery stack
  • Implementation of end-to-end management tools for several fast-growing startups
  • Packaging of internal tools for custom attribution

Versatile, you are keen to understand the needs of your interlocutors to translate them into exploitable and high-quality data structures. You know how to work autonomously on your missions and you wish to support and help younger consultants progress on your expertise and on modern data stacks.

Qualifications

Coming from a major business school, engineering school, or equivalent, you have at least 5 years of professional experience.

You master the following technologies/tools/environments: (in bold, the skills to prioritize for the current need for Salomon)

  • GCP / Microsoft Azure / AWS
  • Snowflake
  • Python & SQL
  • Airflow / dbt
  • Git

You have good analytical skills and know how to manage an analytical project from end to end with autonomy and rigor. You have already worked/wish to work on data marketing issues and you have already had experiences/wish to work in the consulting world.
