Job Summary
The Lead Hardware Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design for Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) projects, including Utility SVC, STATCOM, Fixed Series Compensation, and Synchronous Condenser. This role involves working within the engineering design team to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project design documentation. Responsibilities include leading and supporting other engineers, preparing, engineering, and validating electrical hardware designs for secondary systems, and configuring products and solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with flexibility, resilience, and a self-learning attitude.
Must Have
- Lead and review the secondary Hardware design.
- Produce high quality documents and specifications.
- Design of Protection & Control (P&C) cubicle circuit diagrams and lay-outs.
- Low Voltage (LV) cabling design including cable drawings and lists.
- Interface with internal and external team members.
- Participate in technical negotiations with end customers and other stakeholders.
- Support equipment sourcing (technical inputs, equipment evaluation, Enterprise Resource Planning system).
- Facilitate the development and execute cost reduction programs.
- Participate P&C cubicle functionality testing and inspection in laboratory and/or on-site.
- Support project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college with 5 years' experience; or associate's degree with 10 years of experience in the specific field of electrical engineering.
- Experience in P&C system design from energy, industrial or utility projects.
- Familiar with design engineering tools e.g. Engineering Base, AutoCAD, CADS, E3, EPLAN or other tools utilizing databases.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Fluent written and oral skills in English.

As a member of this world class team, the Lead Hardware Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design for Flexible AC (Alternating Current) Transmission System (FACTS) projects. Our main FACTS system products are Utility SVC, STATCOM, Fixed Series Compensation and Synchronous Condenser projects. Additionally, we are involved in the development of new products and technologies in the industry. In this role, you will be working within the engineering design team to ensure all project design documentation is delivered on time, on budget and with excellent quality. You will lead and support the work of other engineers through verbal and written instructions, reviews, and approval processes. You will be responsible for preparation, engineering and validation of electrical hardware designs for secondary systems, preparing specifications and configurations for our products and solutions. You are a seasoned expert, however more than exact years of experience, we expect you to be a self-starter with high level of flexibility, resilience, and self-learning attitude.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and review the secondary Hardware design.

- Facilitate the development and execute cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low-cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction (NPI).
- Participate P&C cubicle functionality testing and inspection in laboratory and/or on-site.
- Support project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college with 5 years' experience; or associate's degree with 10 years of experience in the specific field of electrical engineering.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
