Job Summary
Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions. This role involves establishing and monitoring production metrics, optimizing resource utilization, and leading continuous improvement efforts. The manager will direct and evaluate personnel, align operations with business needs, and drive Lean, Safety, and Quality initiatives. The position requires strong leadership in daily operational management and process improvements.
Must Have
- Establish and monitor production using metrics/budgets
- Plan and evaluate optimal resource utilization and efficiency
- Direct, guide, monitor, and evaluate personnel
- Lead continuous improvement efforts and projects
- Identify and pursue new technologies to improve production
- Work closely with Senior and Executive Management
- Provide senior leadership, guidance, mentorship, and personal development to direct reports
- Identify process and quality changes; drive Lean, Safety, and Quality
- Master/Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant studies
- Minimum 15 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership and managerial experience
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing, operations management, and project management

Key Responsibilities
- Establishes and monitors production using metrics/budgets through systems, and initiates appropriate corrective action as needed and based on results. Establishes and controls project schedules, timelines.
- Plans and evaluates optimal resource utilization and efficiency of operation to minimize costs and allow for on-time delivery of product to customers. Accurately establishes plant capacity.
- Directs, guides, monitors, and evaluates personnel to accomplish specific production and supply chain goals consistent with established operational, housekeeping (5S), and safety procedures and processes. Engage in problem solving in complex situations and process improvements in streamlining work processes.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts and projects to refine production methods and processes to produce quality products that meet customer requirements in the most cost-effective manner.
- Identifies and pursues new and complex technologies to improve production and cycle time, increase efficiency and resource utilization and maximize profitability.
- Works closely with members of Senior and Executive Management to align overall operations development with business needs/opportunities. Promotes an environment of cooperation and trust.
- Provides senior leadership, guidance, mentorship, and personal development of his/her direct reports in the areas of daily operational management, systems development, and optimization. And ensures that all direct reports are sufficiently skilled and trained to perform their functions in a high-quality and efficient manner.
- Identifies process and quality changes designed to improve manufacturing or department capabilities. Drives Lean, Safety and Quality. Takes corrective action.
Requirements
- Master/ Bachelor Degree in Engineering or other relevant studies
- Minimum 15 years of experiences in semiconductor manufacturing environment
- Proven years of leadership and managerial experiences in leading a team or projects
- In depth understanding in manufacturing, operations management and project management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and convince
- Strong belief in quality, employee engagement/ development and positive working culture
- Ability to work with different time zones when necessary
