Must Have

- Fluency in English and Hindi.

The Role
As Manager, Post Production (India), you will oversee and support post-production on a slate of Netflix projects across one or more regions in India. You will work with creators, production teams and a broad network of vendors to ensure that each project meets Netflix’s expectations for creative intent, technical quality and timely delivery. You will be closely involved with the India post-production market, including facility capabilities, regional language workflows, evolving technologies and local practices. You will help connect how work is traditionally done in India with Netflix’s global standards so that our projects benefit from both local expertise and world-class workflows.
A successful candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking and flexible, able to pivot when necessary and manage multiple and diverse responsibilities. The role requires strong organisational skills, close attention to detail, sound judgment and the confidence to take initiative in a fast-moving environment. This position focuses on the India post-production ecosystem and involves building and maintaining relationships with vendors and talent in hubs such as Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and others. Fluency in English and Hindi is required. The ability to converse in one or more regional languages or dialects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Technical Setup and Workflows
- Work with internal technical teams and external production to define dailies and post-production workflows for India, including HDR colour pipelines, mastering, delivery and archive.
- Help familiarise producers, post houses, editors, mixers and colourists with Netflix tools, specifications and best practices.
Budgeting
- Review and assess post-production budgets and schedules for India projects, providing clear feedback on feasibility, risks and trade-offs.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to finalise post-production budgets.
- Track and manage all post-related spend, keeping stakeholders informed of status, variances and opportunities for efficiencies.
- Review and approve major post-production line items such as dub studios, DI facilities, sound editorial and VFX vendors for studio productions.
Post Scheduling and Management
- Help draft and refine post-production schedules for assigned projects
- Collaborate with internal teams (including Distribution, Localisation, QC and Product) and external production to agree on timelines.
- Work with external partners to identify and resolve issues as they arise, including delays, technical challenges or creative changes.
- Communicate schedule changes promptly to internal and external teams, along with proposed solutions and mitigations.
Staffing, Vendors and Market
- Lead or support the hiring of post-production Crew and HOD’s.
- Recommend vendors for picture, sound, VFX, QC, mastering and archive that best support creative goals & budgets.
- Build and maintain relationships with post-production facilities and service providers across India, understanding their strengths, limitations and areas for growth.
- Provide constructive feedback to vendors and partners to raise quality, security and efficiency in line with Netflix expectations.
- Share observations on India post-production trends, tools and talent to inform regional and global post strategies.
Content Management and Approvals
- Attend creative reviews such as final mix playbacks, VFX reviews and colour sessions, helping to ensure that creative intent is preserved while meeting technical standards.
- Schedule and attend Netflix screenings, previews, premieres and other review sessions, including internal and external stakeholder viewings.
- Partner with Localisation, QC and Delivery teams to ensure India projects and their language versions are delivered on time and at the expected quality for launch.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in independent or studio feature film and/or series post-production in a management or supervisory role, with substantial experience in the India post-production market.
- Familiar with current HDR and 4K colour-managed workflows and willing to stay up to date with evolving production and post-production practices.
- Broad understanding of end-to-end post-production, including editorial, DI, sound, VFX, QC, mastering and delivery, ideally across multiple Indian languages.
- Experience working with Indian post-production vendors and facilities, with awareness of regional differences in capabilities, pricing and workflows.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with creative talent, vendors and internal teams.
- Proven discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Strong sense of prioritisation and follow-through, with the capacity to manage a slate of projects and respond effectively to changing needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Pix and Movie Magic Budgeting.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Fluency in English and Hindi. Conversational ability in one or more regional languages or dialects is a plus.
