Job Summary

Job Description

As a Novel Editor at Square Enix, you will be responsible for all aspects of SQEX Novel editing, including planning and producing works, discovering authors and works, working with authors to create works, publishing works as books, supervising comic adaptations of works, and other editorial department operations, such as the SQEX Novel Grand Prize operation and selection. The job offers the opportunity to deliver interesting novel works of a wide range of genres to readers, with a focus on media mix development such as comic adaptations, animations, and games. You will also be able to expand the novel business, capture changes in the novel market, and expand the possibilities of delivering works to more readers. You can build your career as a novel editor by testing your abilities and gaining a wide range of work experience. You will be able to launch works with authors and gain popularity based on your own ideas.

Must have:

2+ years of novel editing experience
Experience in creating hit works is preferred

Good to have:

Interest in the business environment and structure of the novel industry
Vision for the future of the novel industry and novel business
Strong interest in entertainment, centered on novels, manga, and anime
Knowledge of novels, works, and authors
Communication skills
