The P2P Governance and Engagement Lead in North America will govern vertical workstreams, engaging stakeholders across all levels and functions (Finance, Procurement, Treasury). Responsibilities include creating and implementing Procure-to-Pay training programs, driving coordination to meet business needs, supervising AP systems, ensuring smooth processing, offering expertise, governing outsourced AP functions, monitoring KPIs/SLAs, leading process improvements, analyzing process issues, and driving improvements to AP procedures and policies. The role requires strong collaboration, influence, and experience in Accounts Payable processes. The P2P team manages approximately $150B in payments annually, serving ~200 subsidiaries worldwide.

The vision for Procure to Pay (P2P) at Microsoft/ABK is to provide streamlined end to end payment and calculation solutions that seek to reduce user time, allow our operations to scale, and move beyond being a cost center for the company.  P2P team handles approximately $150B of payments to 3rd parties and employees annually. P2P operations are outsourced as managed service and serve ~200 subsidiaries worldwide. Global P2P function is rapidly redefining and growing. Both Finance Operations internal and corporate driven big initiatives and efforts are in the roadmap to be impacting Accounts Payable across all its service lines in the short and long term.

The P2P Governance and Engagement Lead in this role will be responsible for governance of several vertical workstreams across the North America region. This role requires engagement with stakeholders of all levels and cross functions, including Finance Controls and Compliance, Procurement, Treasury and our Business Process Outsource partner. The ideal candidate should demonstrate thought-leadership capability, an ability to lead end to end processes, strong collaboration skills, the ability to influence others and experience in Accounts Payable processes.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal business groups at all levels to ensure clear communication and effective collaboration on the engagement model with the Procure to Pay function, adhering to the standard Procure-to-Pay processes

  • Create and implement training programs for the Procure-to Pay process, and conduct regular training sessions with business groups.

  • Drive effective coordination with stakeholders to ensure AP process and support are meeting the needs of  the business groups.

  • Supervise AP systems and communication channels to ensure smooth processing and a delivery of high quality AP service to internal and external stakeholders

  • Share Procure to Pay expertise and offer guidance to less experienced team members

  • Govern outsourced Accounts Payable function for the North America region, monitor KPIs and SLAs

  • Initiate and lead process improvements, take initiative to implement best practices and streamline operations globally

  • Analyze root causes of the process issues, size the risk, challenge existing processes and drive improvement to AP standard operating procedures and policies

  • Ensure Account Payable maintains a strong environment of controls

  • Drive continuous improvements with the area of responsibility

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in business/finance operations, program management, process management, process improvement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance or other related fields (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in Procure-to-Pay environment

  • Must be comfortable working with ambiguity and adept at using data to influence business decision making

  • Ability to travel, both domestic and international

  • Project management experience

  • Six Sigma certification a large plus

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $77,760.00 - $143,920.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
