Job Summary

As the Brussels Policy Lead at Nscale, you will be instrumental in shaping and driving the company's engagement with EU institutions and the broader policy landscape. This highly autonomous role involves building deep relationships, identifying strategic collaboration opportunities, and ensuring Nscale effectively contributes to the EU's digital and AI agenda. You will lead EU-focused policy development, translating regulatory changes into business implications and crafting Nscale's external policy positions, working closely with EMEA leadership and senior stakeholders.

Must Have

  • Shape Nscale’s external policy positions, narratives, and engagement plans.
  • Draft and coordinate high-quality policy materials (briefings, talking points, consultation responses, position papers).
  • Represent Nscale in policy forums, roundtables, working groups, and ecosystem engagements.
  • Partner closely with EMEA leadership and senior stakeholders across the company.
  • Provide clear executive-level advice on policy developments, geopolitical sensitivity and regulatory risk.
  • Track and anticipate relevant EU policy developments affecting AI, cloud, infrastructure, security, sustainability, and competitiveness.
  • Operate independently in an unstructured environment, prioritising effectively and delivering at pace.
  • 8+ years’ experience in technology companies, management consulting, government, or public affairs, with significant EU exposure.
  • Proven success building deep relationships across public-sector and institutional stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence and experience advising or working with C-level leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, highly regulated, or geopolitically sensitive environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce executive-ready written outputs.
  • Background in AI, infrastructure, cloud, technology, or digital policy.
  • Strong understanding of AI infrastructure and the policy levers that shape its deployment and competitiveness.

About the Role

As the Brussels Policy Lead, you will shape and drive Nscale’s engagement with EU institutions and the wider policy ecosystem. As the EU’s role in AI infrastructure grows, you will build deep relationships across key organisations, identify strategic opportunities for collaboration and ensure Nscale can contribute effectively to the EU’s digital and AI agenda.

You will lead EU-focused policy development within Nscale, working closely with the EMEA team and senior leaders across the company. This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone with strong senior presence, excellent judgement and the ability to blend commercial and policy perspectives.

What You’ll be Doing

EU Policy Strategy & Positioning

  • With the SVP, support the development of Nscale’s EU policy strategy across AI infrastructure, cloud, digital regulation, and related domains.
  • Translate policy and regulatory developments into clear implications, risks and opportunities for Nscale.
  • Shape Nscale’s external policy positions, narratives, and engagement plans in alignment with business priorities.
  • Draft and coordinate high-quality policy materials (briefings, talking points, consultation responses, position papers).

Stakeholder Engagement & External Influence

  • Build and sustain senior relationships across EU institutions, Member State representations, industry bodies and relevant Brussels-based stakeholders.
  • Represent Nscale in policy forums, roundtables, working groups, and ecosystem engagements with strong judgement and credibility.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue strategic collaboration opportunities (coalitions, partnerships, public-private initiatives).
  • Monitor stakeholder sentiment and policy dynamics to anticipate shifts and advise internal leadership.

Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partner closely with EMEA leadership and senior stakeholders across the company to align EU engagement with commercial strategy.
  • Provide clear executive-level advice on policy developments, geopolitical sensitivity and regulatory risk.
  • Coordinate input across internal teams to ensure consistency of Nscale’s messaging and positions.

Monitoring, Foresight & Execution

  • Track and anticipate relevant EU policy developments affecting AI, cloud, infrastructure, security, sustainability, and competitiveness.
  • Operate independently in an unstructured environment, prioritising effectively and delivering at pace.
  • Maintain a pragmatic approach that balances long-term policy strategy with near-term execution and stakeholder needs.

About You

  • 8+ years’ experience in technology companies, management consulting, government, or public affairs, ideally with significant EU exposure.
