The Principal Equipment Sourcing Manager will create and execute a world-class equipment supply to demand alignment process, ensuring the supply chain delivers technology and manufacturing capacity to meet business requirements.

The opportunity

The Principal Equipment Sourcing Manager will be accountable for creating and executing a world-class equipment supply to demand alignment process, enabling the supply chain to deliver technology and manufacturing capacity that meets Magic Leap’s business requirements.

What you’ll do

• Lead long-term supply chain capacity planning, ensuring alignment with the technology roadmap and future capacity needs
• Drive supplier selection and qualification in close partnership with R&D and internal equipment teams
• Establish and scale high-performance business processes for equipment sourcing across internal stakeholders and external equipment manufacturers
• Implement foundational systems and processes for manufacturing equipment management, including:
• Deployment of an asset tracking system for all manufacturing equipment
• Full integration of equipment assets into the SAP environment
• Integration of equipment data with the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system
• Own alignment between capital expenditure (CapEx) planning and equipment supply, ensuring accurate tracking and execution
• Secure sourcing and supply readiness for high-volume, business-critical equipment, including:
• Laser systems
• Metrology tools (e.g., Terranova, Ellipsometer)

The experience you bring

• Demonstrated success in managing a complex technology supply chain, ensuring delivery that aligns with development and manufacturing cost targets
• Experienced leader with a verifiable track record of creating business processes, implementing processes across peer organizations, and managing the execution of said processes
• A track record of high performance and sustained excellence in supply chain management within a high-tech or semiconductor environment
• Exceptional ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment with limited initial direction, consistently delivering successful, high-impact programs
