Job Summary

The Hardware Validation Engineer is responsible for validating and verifying hardware designs to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with specifications. This role involves testing prototypes, debugging hardware issues, and collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality products. Key responsibilities include performing functional, electrical, and environmental tests, validating PCB designs, conducting stress and reliability tests, troubleshooting hardware issues, preparing validation plans and reports, and coordinating with various teams.

Must Have

  • Perform functional, electrical, and environmental tests on hardware prototypes and production units.
  • Validate PCB designs for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal performance.
  • Conduct stress and reliability tests (e.g., temperature cycling, vibration, ESD).
  • Use diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) to troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Work with design engineers to resolve failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare validation plans, test procedures, and detailed reports.
  • Document test results and provide recommendations for design improvements.
  • Coordinate with design, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product development.
  • Support NPI/NTI activities by validating hardware readiness for mass production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power analyzer).
  • Understanding of hardware design principles and signal integrity concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with industry standards (IPC, JEDEC) and compliance testing.
  • Experience with scripting for automation (Python, LabVIEW).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Validation & Testing:
  • Perform functional, electrical, and environmental tests on hardware prototypes and production units.
  • Validate PCB designs for signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal performance.
  • Conduct stress and reliability tests (e.g., temperature cycling, vibration, ESD).
  • Debugging & Issue Resolution:
  • Use diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) to troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Work with design engineers to resolve failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Prepare validation plans, test procedures, and detailed reports.
  • Document test results and provide recommendations for design improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with design, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product development.
  • Support NPI/NTI activities by validating hardware readiness for mass production.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of PCB design, hardware debugging, and validation processes is an advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power analyzer).
  • Understanding of hardware design principles and signal integrity concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Attributes:
