Job Description

This role involves the comprehensive planning, development, and production of official merchandise based on Square Enix game IPs. You will manage the entire process from initial concept to release, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including game developers. Responsibilities include product planning, budget management, supplier negotiation, quality control, and cross-functional coordination. The position offers the unique opportunity to work directly with IP holders and creators, fostering new product ideas within a globally expanding environment.
Must have:
  • Plan and develop official merchandise using Square Enix game IPs
  • Manage the entire merchandise development process from planning to release
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including game developers
  • Handle quotes, negotiations, orders, and schedule management with manufacturers
  • Conduct quality checks on product samples and monitor progress
  • Prepare necessary documents and coordinate with sales, publicity, and overseas teams
  • 2+ years of experience in planning, development, or production management
  • Experience with profit and loss calculations for products
  • Basic proficiency in Office applications, including Outlook
  • Expertise in a specific category or field within the character business
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of and interest in entertainment, especially games and manga
  • Knowledge of Square Enix IP content
  • Experience playing Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games
  • Experience with business trips to overseas factories
  • Experience in planning and developing products using molds
  • Experience with the entire product development to launch process

You will be involved in the planning, production, production management, and release of merchandise, coordinating with various stakeholders from start to finish.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Product planning, specification review, and formulation of business plans for the responsible area
  • Coordination and supervision with internal and external stakeholders
  • Handling quotes, negotiations, orders, and schedule management with external manufacturers
  • Quality checks of product samples and progress confirmation
  • Preparation of necessary documents, etc.
  • Various coordination tasks with sales, publicity, and overseas representatives (including meetings)

*Domestic and international business trips are required.
