Job Summary
The Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) at Foster Farms is responsible for overseeing all production and sanitation activities, training and motivating team members to meet goals in quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety. This role involves monitoring standards, providing feedback on exceptions, ensuring preventive maintenance, and conducting safety orientations. Candidates need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 3 years in food processing, and strong communication, interpersonal, and technical skills.
Must Have
- Supervise production and sanitation activities through shift leadspersons.
- Train, direct, and motivate Team members to achieve department goals.
- Meet department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
- Develop and train Team members within union contract and company policies.
- Monitor standards and indexes to control area of responsibility.
- Provide quick and timely feedback to supervisor on all exceptions.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance is done on equipment.
- Give safety orientations and hold safety/general meetings as required.
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the food processing industry.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Balanced technical/mechanical/human resource knowledge.
- Ability to evaluate line Team members fairly and objectively.
- Ability to interface daily with all support groups or departments.
- Ability to submit and pass a criminal background check.

Job Description
- Responsible for supervising all the production and sanitation activities through the various shift leadspersons. Train, direct and motivate Team members to achieve department goals and stands on yield, quality, productivity and safety.
- Responsible for his/her respective department and for meeting department goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost and safety.
- Directly responsible for the development and training of Team members, working within the guidelines of the union contract and company policies.
- Directly responsible for monitoring standards and indexes needed to control area of responsibility.
- Responsible for quick and timely feedback to supervisor on all exception in regard to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety.
- Responsible for making sure all preventive maintenance is done on all equipment in area of control and interfacing with immediate Supervisor on all suggested changes that would make the job better, more profitable and safer.
- Directly responsible for giving safety orientations and holding safety/general meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Must have a B.S. or B.A. degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the food processing industry.
- Must have demonstrated ability communicate verbally in writing and must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have a balanced technical/mechanical/human resource knowledge.
- Must be able to evaluate line Team members fairly and objectively.
- Must have the ability to interface on a daily basis with all support groups or departments.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.
