QA Manager

PulsePoint, a leading technology company and part of Internet Brands, is seeking an exceptionally skilled hands-on QA Manager, Downstream. This role involves managing the overall system test strategy and functions for designated product streams, implementing and enforcing QA standards, and overseeing functional testing. Key responsibilities include coordinating launch activities, defining KPIs, documenting testing strategies, and contributing to test design and execution. The manager will also lead a team of test engineers, identify risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and quality.

Must Have

The Role:

PulsePoint is currently seeking an exceptionally skilled hands-on QA Manager, Downstream to join our team. The QA Manager is responsible for managing the overall system test strategy and functions for the designated product streams. The key responsibilities also include implementing, enforcing, and maintaining QA standards and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee functional testing for PulsePoint Platform
• Coordinate launch and post-launch QA activities and closely monitor impact of product changes
• Define KPIs, track progress, and communicate results to stakeholders with clarity and impact
• Document long-term testing strategy and changes required
• Assist in the design and evolution of the company’s QA process
• Delegate technical tasks among the team members and execute as per the project plan
• Contribute as an individual during test design, test planning, and test execution
• Identify and communicate risk and risk mitigation strategies
• Review test plans, test cases, and scripts to ensure coverage based on requirements
• Assure synchronization with other systems occurring for full coverage
• Collaborate on and learn new technologies
• Work closely with on-site and remote stakeholders in several countries

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent professional experience
• 6+ years of relevant experience in software quality assurance in web-based technologies
• Experience with leading a team of test engineers in their daily activities and guiding the resources on their approach
• Deep understanding of automation strategy, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalable automation solutions that enhance efficiency and accelerate delivery
• Hands-on experience with API and database testing
• Strong understanding of web technologies and protocols and proven experience testing web application
• Excellent team communication and mentorship skills
• Passion for continuous improvement and fostering a culture of quality
• Deal well with a shift in testing scope or time-sensitive requests
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and testing methodologies
• Work hours: second shift
• Note that the hiring manager is in the U.S. but the majority of the QA team is in India and you can work India hours (end your days at around 9pm IST)

Hours and Location:

• You must be willing and able to work 12-9pm IST
• Note that our Director of QA is in the U.S. but the majority of the QA team is in India
• We offer both hybrid and remote options

• We are also open to hiring this as a fully remote role

Comp Structure and Benefits:

• Comp structure: fixed (inclusive of PF, Gratuity, and a 25k INR medical premium) + a target annual bonus that is approximately 5% of the gross annual earnings. Note that we don’t offer stock options

2. Initial interview with Associate Director, QA at WebMD (1 hour)

3. Interview with QA Downstream Manager (45 min, could be conducted in India time zone)

4. Group interview with QA team (45 mins, could be conducted in India time zone)

5. Final interview with Director of QA (45 mins)
