The Ratings and Compliance Analyst at Bandai Namco will ensure game compliance with regulatory groups for console, PC, and streaming titles. Responsibilities include accurate age rating determination, collaboration with stakeholders to meet deadlines, managing rating packages and certificates, acting as a subject matter expert on ratings and compliance guidelines, creating compliance documentation for new platforms, and staying updated on industry trends. The role requires experience in rating submission processes (ESRB/DJCTQ) and content review for potential rating descriptors. This is a hybrid role based in Irvine, California.
Must have:
  • 3+ years compliance experience (preferably in video games)
  • Understanding of QA, submission, and release processes
  • Knowledge of ESRB/DJCTQ submission procedures
  • Content review for rating descriptors
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with digital platform submissions
  • Familiarity with international ratings boards

POSITION SUMMARY

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc.’s Ratings and Compliance Analyst will serve as a ratings, content, and submission analyst for our console, PC, and streaming platform titles.

They will ensure our games are compliant with relevant regulatory groups and must be knowledgeable of 1P submission procedures, digital platform submissions, and release requirements. They will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to achieve compliance and adhere to deadlines.

Join us at our new campus in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for matters ensuring the accuracy of age ratings for titles
  • Collaborate with relevant parties in areas of responsibility, which can include matters such as ensuring compliance with necessary schedules and guidelines
  • Participate in the evaluation of games as applicable
  • Effectively manage rating packages and certificates, which can include management of distribution and submission schedules
  • Be the subject matter expert in ratings and compliance guidelines
  • Communicate and distribute information with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with BNEA’s internal requirements & 1P’s requirements for ratings and compliance
  • Responsible for creating documentation on compliance and new platforms/outlets for BNEA published content as required
  • Continually keep a pulse on industry trends and best practices relevant to the scope of responsibility

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of or progressively responsible experience in a compliance role preferably in the video game industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of QA and submission and release processes

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • AA or higher in a related field or equivalent experience

QUALIFICATION PLUSES

  • Experience in completing ratings submission packets to the ESRB and/or DJCTQ
  • Experience in conducting reviews of content pertaining to potential rating and rating descriptors

SALARY RANGE

$68,640 - $77,250

Actual base salary will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
