Reconciliation Operations Analyst

As a Reconciliation Operations Analyst at eBay India, you will ensure the financial integrity of transactions across the eBay marketplace, payments platforms, third-party processors, and internal systems. You will execute reconciliation processes, identify mismatches, resolve variances, and collaborate across Finance, Product, and Controlling to maintain high operational accuracy and compliance.

Must Have

• Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across payment processors, orders/buyer-seller payment transactions, settlement files and ledger reports, and bank statements.
• Monitor transaction failures, mismatches, and exceptions using reconciliation tools and dashboards.
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled items or mismatches, ensuring accurate and quick response to identified variances.
• Prepare reconciliation reports with analysis and root cause summaries.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain SOPs and documentation for audit and compliance.
• Participate in UAT testing for new tools or reconciliation logic changes.
• Provide feedback to improve reconciliation coverage, speed and accuracy.
• Broad understanding of accounting flows and reconciliation processes/tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, Economics, Finance or equivalent with proven experience in reconciling accounting/payments data for 3+ Years.
• Self-motivated, efficient, independent and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Great teammate with the ability to work across multiple offices and time zones in a very diverse setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to successfully collaborate with others.
• Flexible and willing to function in a constantly changing, demanding environment.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel or Google sheets (formulas, pivots, VLOOKUP).

Good to Have

• Familiarity with SQL
• Familiarity with Tableau
• Familiarity with MicroStrategy

You’ll be responsible for executing reconciliation processes, identifying mismatches, resolving variances, and collaborating across Finance, Product, and Controlling to maintain a high standard of operational accuracy and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across:
• Payment processors
• Orders/Buyer-seller payment transactions
• Settlement files and ledger reports
• Bank statements
• Monitor transaction failures, mismatches, and exceptions using reconciliation tools and dashboards
• Responsible for investigating and resolving unreconciled items or mismatches
• Ensures accurate and quick response to identified variances
• Prepares reconciliation reports with analysis and root cause summaries
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Maintains SOPs and documentation for audit and compliance
• Participates in UAT testing for new tools or recon logic changes
• Provides feedback to improve reconciliation coverage, speed and accuracy

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• You have a broad understanding of accounting flows and reconciliation processes/tools
• You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, Economics, Finance or equivalent with proven experience in reconciling accounting/payments data for 3+ Years.
• You are self-motivated, efficient, independent and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You are a great teammate with the ability to work across multiple offices and time zones in a very diverse setting.
• You have excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to successfully collaborate with others.
• You are flexible and willing to function in a constantly changing, demanding environment.
• You have Strong command of Microsoft Excel or Google sheets (formulas, pivots, VLOOKUP)

Familiarity with SQL, Tableau or MicroStrategy is a plus
