Job Summary

Sonar is seeking a Renewals Specialist in Austin to join their global Renewals Team. This role is crucial for supporting customer retention and business growth for SMB customers. The specialist will manage the entire renewal process, from proactive engagement and quote delivery to collaborating with GTM teams for effective strategies. They will also handle administrative tasks, identify upsell opportunities, maintain high renewal success rates, and improve forecasting accuracy, all while contributing to a dynamic, global culture focused on delivering Clean Code.

Must Have

  • Oversee the complete renewal process for existing contracts
  • Proactively engage with customers 90-120 days before contract expiration
  • Prepare and deliver accurate renewal quotes and proposals
  • Collaborate closely with GTM teams (Sales, Customer Success) on renewal strategies
  • Manage the end-to-end administrative process from initial quoting to deal closure
  • Support contract processes and work closely with the Deal Desk
  • Identify and flag upsell and cross-sell opportunities, handing them over to the Sales team
  • Maintain a high success rate for subscription renewals (on time to close and close won ratio)
  • Maintain and improve forecasting accuracy for renewals, providing regular reports
  • Categorize churn reasons for reporting accuracy and share customer feedback
  • Actively participate in process improvements, identifying efficiencies and implementing best practices
  • Keep Salesforce and other CRM tools up-to-date with accurate renewal data
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the software industry
  • Proactive with a customer-focused mindset

The impact you will have

As part of our exciting growth, our global Renewals Team is seeking a new team member to join us in the Live Music Capital of the World. You will play a key role in supporting customer retention and business growth for our SMB customers. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with the teams across the Go-To-Market organisation, to ensure a smooth renewal process and deliver excellent service to our valued customers.

What you will do daily:

  • Oversee the complete renewal process for existing contracts, proactively engaging with customers within a 90- 120 day window leading up to their contract expiration.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate renewal quotes and proposals to customers, ensuring all terms meet both customer expectations and company policies.
  • Collaborate closely with GTM teams, especially Sales and Customer Success, to craft and execute effective renewal strategies. This involves proactively engaging customers aligned with Account Managers to discuss renewals and identifying at-risk accounts.
  • Manage the end-to-end administrative process, from initial quoting through to deal closure. Support contract processes and works closely with the Deal Desk.
  • Identify and flag upsell and cross-sell opportunities, effectively handing them over to the Sales team.
  • Maintain a high success rate both on time to close and close won ratio for subscription renewals
  • Maintain and improve forecasting accuracy for renewals, providing regular reports to management.
  • Categorize effectively churn reasons, to ensure reporting accuracy. Share customer feedback and insights.
  • Actively participate in process improvements, identifying efficiencies and implementing best practices.
  • Keep Salesforce and other CRM tools up-to-date with accurate renewal data.
