At Trek Bicycles, we're on the hunt for a talented and driven individual to join our Retail Inventory Team as a Retail Inventory Manager. If you’re passionate about cycling and inventory management, and enjoy collaborating with industry leaders, this is your chance to make an impact! As the Retail Inventory Manager, you’ll work closely with district managers, store managers, and top-tier cycling brands to manage the purchasing strategy for a group of directly owned Trek stores. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring stores are stocked with the right products at the right time to drive sales, meet margin targets, and optimize inventory. A successful Retail Inventory Manager will leverage our retail management system, Ascend, to implement and monitor your strategy, working to deliver the right products while staying within budget and maximizing overall store performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly Buying & Replenishment: Ensure timely product replenishment and adhere to inventory budgets, meeting the weekly buying schedule for assigned stores.
Order Tracking: Monitor and track all orders to ensure on-time delivery and accuracy.
Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with store managers to maximize inventory turns and ensure product availability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Inventory Management Team, Planning Team, and Store Management to align on inventory needs and strategies.
Seasonal & Pre-Season Purchasing: Participate in the planning and purchasing of products for seasonal and pre-season needs to ensure stores are prepared for peak sales periods.
Strategic Support: Ensure that inventory planning and execution align with company-level strategic initiatives, maximizing both inventory productivity and profitability.
Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate and resolve any potential issues before they impact business performance, ensuring smooth inventory operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong knowledge of retail management and inventory systems (experience with Ascend or similar systems preferred)
Ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple departments.
Detail-oriented with a strong ability to analyze data and forecast inventory needs.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fasted paced environment
Fun and flexible attitude with strong drive to exceed goals and expectations
Position Requirements:
3-5 years of retail purchasing or demand planning experience in a multi-unit setting
2+ years of retail Store Manager experience in a selling environment
Technical knowledge of bicycles is strongly preferred.
Critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills
Proven ability to effectively communicate and interact with management and suppliers.
Extensive knowledge of Excel
