Job Summary
PlayStation is seeking an SDET Contractor in Waterloo, ON, to join a global initiative focused on robust test automation and CI/CD systems. The role involves owning test automation framework development, driving complex project testing across multiple teams and platforms, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure high-quality features. The ideal candidate will write stable automation scripts, build CI pipelines, and evangelize best practices within QE teams, contributing to an exciting product environment.
Must Have
- Build and set up Test Automation frameworks.
- Drive testing of complex projects across multiple teams.
- Write stable and maintainable automation scripts.
- Build automation infrastructure to create CI Pipelines.
- Improve QE processes and propose standard methodologies.
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
- At least 6 years of experience in automated testcase development for full stack applications.
- Significant experience in any Object Oriented programming language.
- Experience with developer tools such as Git and Docker.
- Experience in creating comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
- Experience with configuring CI pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.
Good to Have
- Experience writing code in Python.
- Experience with Selenium or Appium.
- Familiarity with the Page Object Pattern.
- Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (Postman, REST Assured).
- Experience architecting testing frameworks.
- Experience with React Native.

**Responsibilities:**
- Owns building and setting up Test Automation frameworks to test PlayStation features.
- Drives testing of complex projects across multiple-teams and multiple platforms. Evaluates gaps in testing and drives solutions to write high quality automation to increase test coverage.
- Partners with stakeholders to ensure test coverage and builds test plans that help deliver high quality features
- Writes automation scripts for features with key characteristics of stability and maintainability which prevents regressions in the product code.
- Works effectively to build automation infrastructure to create CI Pipelines, enable automation runs, develop visualization tools and evangelize them with various QE teams.
- Passionate about Quality and strives to improve process, proposes standard methodologies and drives their usage within the teams.
- Mentors the team members and provides technical leadership by reviewing test plans, automation scripts, and provides feedback.
- Communicates on testing strategy, technical subjects related to testing frameworks, and collaborates effectively with the globally distributed teams to achieve the business goals.
**Required Qualifications:**
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
- At least 6 years or equivalent experience in automated testcase development for full stack applications including test framework development
- Significant experience in any Object Oriented programming language
- Experience with developer tools such as Git and Docker
- Experience in creating comprehensive test strategies and test plans
- Demonstrated experience with recommending QE process improvements
- Experience with configuring CI pipelines, preferably using Jenkins
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience writing code in Python
- Experience with Selenium or Appium
- Familiar with the Page Object Pattern
- Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (Postman, REST Assured).
