Job Description
AriensCo is seeking passionate outdoor enthusiasts for a seasonal Field Test Operator role in Hancock and Calumet, MI. This part-time position involves operating cutting-edge snow equipment to ensure quality and performance in snowy landscapes. Responsibilities include safe operation, daily machine inspections, completing paperwork, and communicating issues. The role requires working outdoors in inclement weather, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Operations run Monday-Saturday, 6 am-10 pm, starting mid-December.

Must Have:
- Safe operation of multiple styles of snow blowing machines and tools
- Communicate safety concerns and near misses immediately
- Complete required paperwork (daily safety checklists, test incident reports, machine inspections)
- Proper operating techniques that do not cause machine damage and/or excessive unit wear
- Perform daily machine inspections per defined inspection plan
- Ability to clearly communicate and document issues observed during test
- Ability to communicate effectively on test machine operation/issues
- Working knowledge of outdoor power equipment operation and use
- Capable of performing basic troubleshooting and adhering to standard work
- Required to walk and/or stand for 8+ hours a day
- Work environment is outdoors and may include safely operating in inclement weather
- Must be able to use hands to operate test machines in their normal environment
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds at varying frequencies

Hiring Full-Time and Part-Time employees; Flexible hours
Operations will run Monday- Saturday 6am-10pm
Position is seasonal and will begin mid-December
The Day to Day...
- Safe operation of multiple styles of snow blowing machines and tools
- Communicate safety concerns and near misses immediately
- Live and promote the Ariens Core Values and 15 Principles
- Complete required paperwork (daily safety checklists, test incident reports, machine inspections and others as required by Project Teams)
- Proper operating techniques that do not cause machine damage and/or excessive unit wear (follow test plan/duty cycle)
- Perform daily machine inspections per defined inspection plan
- Ability to clearly communicate and document issues observed during test
- Willingness to provide ideas for product improvement
- Provide continuous improvement feedback on how to improve process efficiencies
- Other duties as assigned
The Qualifications…
- Ability to communicate effectively on test machine operation/issues
- Working knowledge of outdoor power equipment operation and use
- Capable of performing basic troubleshooting and adhering to standard work
The Work Environment…
- Required to walk and/or stand for 8+ hours a day
- Work environment is outdoors and may include safely operating in inclement weather
- Cold weather clothing and winter boots required to be able to run extended periods outside
- Must be able to use hands to operate test machines in their normal environment
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds at varying frequencies. Work with team lift for heavier items
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (hearing protection, eye protection)
